"You didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen..."

And who's economic policies are responsible for this 1.5% rate?

Go Mitt!

So 3 years and trillions of dollars after barack said unemployment wouldnt reach 8%,

Our economy is lousy, but most developed countries would be happy to exchange our growth rates for theirs right now.

@sammyg
Actually nobody built that because Republicans keep blocking infrastructure spending which is what Obama was referring to with that comment.

Official WhiteHouse response: Chirp Chirp Chirp! The crickets are chirping! Why no official response? Oh yes, the President is on vacation in London outsoursing dollars hiding from hungry Americans in order to stroke the Ego and avoid the disaster that is the United States economy! Obama has failed!

Looks like plenty of infrastructure spending in Utah. Roadwork galore. Its all about jobs. Obama is doing all he can to talk about Bain Capital, the Olympics, etc. anything but jobs. It wouldn't matter who was going against Obama now. ANyone would do better.

sammyg, you are using that quote out of context.

Chris B, the president, nor his people, never claimed unemployment would not reach 8%. If you think he did, provide the quote.

Don17, the president is not in London vacationing or otherwise. He is in the White House today. He has been talking about jobs and he has been trying to get the jobs bill passed. Just because you are not informed doesn't mean he hasn't been doing it.

Whatintucket, yes, all that road work, besides giving us functional roads also provides jobs. And yes, while the president is talking about Bain (I haven't heard him talking about the Olympics) he is campaigning after all. That's okay with you isn't it? After al Mitt Romney is campaigning, so it should be okay for the guy he is running against to run shouldnt it? And, yes President Obama is talking about jobs and trying to get his jobs act passed.

Four comments by conservatives, and all of them are mistaken. Is it too hard for you guys just to use the truth?

Mark,
No, the quote is NOT out of context.

Jared Bernstein, the former chief economist and economic advisor to Vice President Joe Biden, wrote a report along with Christina Romer, the chairwoman of President Barack Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors, in January 2009 predicting the less-than-8-percent unemployment rate.

The report was entitled The Job Impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan.

You are saying Christina Romer, the chair of his council of economic advisors, is NOT one of his people?

you are right, BO's not in London, but Michelle is - on our dime!

Romney is campaigning - sure, but he has no full time job. BO HAS a full-time job, which he is neglecting (actually it is GOOD when he neglects his job, because he does so much damage when he implements his policies.

If BO is so focused on jobs, why won't he pressure harry reid to act on the two dozen jobs bills the house has sent to the senate?

No problem with the conservative comments, you just cannot abide any criticism of your failed annointed one. Nice spin, though.

Haha, what spin dude? Love it. You claim conservatives I call out are correct by pointing to other things: oh yeah? Obama isn't in London, but his wife is, so there! Priceless.

Did you criticize former first ladies for trips on our dime? Hypocrite?

When you referred to the projections in the memo about unemployment, did you think to including these disclaimers included with the memo?

"It should be understood that all of the estimates presented in this memo are subject to significant margins of error, there is the more fundamental uncertainty that comes with any estimate of the effects of a program. Our estimates of economic relationships and rules of thumb are derived from historical experience and so will not apply exactly in any given episode. Furthermore, the uncertainty is surely higher than normal now because the current recession is unusual both in its fundamental causes and its severity."

How dishonest of you. What is it with you guys? If you have the goods why do you make so much stuff up?

Also, "anointed one": it's not clever when Hanitty does it, it sure ain't when you do.

Do liberals realize that during the Reagan re-election year economic growth was 7.1%. Now it is 1.5%. Growth in this country during the Obama term has been flat lined and that is NOT hope and change. That is misery.
