To quote the wonderful Fred Rogers:
"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say,
'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'
To this day, especially in times of disaster, I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that
THERE ARE STILL SO MANY HELPERS -- SO MANY CARING PEOPLE IN THE WORLD."
Not taking anything away from this, but Chicago had more than twice the murders in the past month.
Community developing has been a failure.
Do we really need to understand the motive? We have a self-absorbed 20-something who thinks he is smart who decided that it is in his own little self interest to destroy the well-being of other people. And then he wanted to surrender so that he could see the police fall into his ambush. Naming him, showing his picture, and giving him so much attention trying to understand "why" is exactly what this embarassment wants.
Bottom line: this crime makes no sense. He shot dozens of innocent, defenseless people. There is no reason for that. We need to not focus on this one imbecil and focus on the victims and their families and friends so we can heal.
really worf? did you ever stop to think that maybe a story about a tragedy is not the place for petty politics.
Neither Colorado or Chicago is petty, but a broader look at things.
Worf is being petty & partisan.
Face it guys. Obama will try to score some points of off this. It's not me,---Obama is disrespectful. Where is he for Chicago, who has less media coverage, but much more of a tragedy?
