Sounds like this should have been a personal letter to David. Hey Vai do you think Bronco may have had any positive influence on this young man? I'm betting "YES". I do wish David the absolute best! Sounds like a great young man. 3.8 at BYU!! Kid worked his back side off!! Go Cougs!!!
CATRAM: Why don't you write a personal letter to Bronco? Vai's View, get it? He writes whatever he wishes. Aren't you glad he includes us in some of his letters? Now, beat it.
The diversity of your articles makes them always interesting to read. Thanks, for sharing this story.
Go Wildcats!
A Great LDS Ward covers Northwestern University as well. Exceptional University in a Beautiful area and wonderful members around. Would never trade my time there!
After re-reading this column I'm more convinced of Catram's
short-sightedness. Vai wrote this column for his cousin as much as for
the rest of us. He just used David to communicate to anyone who finds
him/herself in a situation where you're about to undertake something
daunting and you need courage to accomplish it. His column is a
reminder of what priorities to have in order to actually succeed.
Catram though, is stuck in the catbox, sniffing cat litter wallowing in pity over perceived slights to Bronco. Poor Catram can't see beyond the box.
Thanks for the personal insights into a great young man. He personifies the best in BYU athletics and life.
I really enjoyed this Vai. I'm a college professor and have had many aspiring professional athletes in my classes. It always saddens me when students do nothing with their lives after their eligibility is up and professional sports don't come calling. I wish your cousin well.
Actually, I have no real hard feelings towards Vai. I find his articles well written. As a former bishop, I also find them somewhat self centered. Go back and read this one, and you will see what I am really saying. My only issue with Vai is his lack of respect for where Bronco has taken the program. I dont want to speculate too much, but from the outside looking in, it appears Vai has problems with Bronco. And, if he has problems with Bronco, then doesnt he really have problems with our Cougs? I think so. Vai seems to love Utah now. Well, ok, I guess. Me, I dont have much love for Utah. So, if it is ok, I will go back to my Cat Box and sniff the cat litter. hahahahahaha. Hey, if Vai ever comes to Vegas, Ill take him to lunch and maybe I can convince that Bronco really is a great coach!!
It is getting old reading the comments from Ute fans like catram trying to pretend they are Cougar fans. I'm sure Vai can see right through the ute fans posing as Cougar fans.
Great article and I hope that David has much success. I loved reading Dick Harmon's article about Mark Atuaia yesterday. These football players that get it are what it is all about. Football is there for a short time but the real men understand that once it is over they still have a life to live.
Keep them coming Vai!
Your articles always leave me with a positive up lift. Thanks Vai.
Let's see, Vai was coached by LaVell Edwards, Norm Chow and Mike Holmgren at BYU. He was drafted by Gene Stallings, who was an assistant to Tom Landry on two Super Bowl teams and later won the national championship at Alabama. But Catram is going convince Vai what a great coach Bronco is. Hopefully Vai takes you up on that lunch and writes about it. We're all dying to know ourselves how you'll convince Vai.
Good luck to the Tafuna's.
Hey Catram go pound sand!
Catram,
Having a problem with Bronco is NOT the same as having a problem with the Cougars. I know a lot of Cougar fans who are not exactly thrilled with Bronco and I would not be surprised if Vai is one of them. Moreover, Vai and Kyle both played for LaVell. There is a connection there that Vai and Bronco do not have.
