The only good thing the Democrats have tried to do in many years and it goes to demonstrate the hypocrisy of the political pandering our government has set this country on. This socializing is destroying the very foundation of our rights and freedoms.

Politicians have this insane idea we want their handouts and freebies, but for the wrong reason. All state and welfare food stamp and socialized programs must be abolished. They are not an obligation of government nor a right to expect as citizens.

I think if a candidate campaigned to remove all welfare and aid programs and cut real taxes by 25% or 30% then he would be unbeatable. A 30% increase of expendable income given back to the workers they could care for themselves. A 30% pay raise is what this economy needs and we could throw in a business profit sharing law so business has to share its growth with the workers, not the investors, CEO's and IRS.

There are sound economic plans available to our government but they don't want to implement any of them. They'd rather tax and socialize to control our lives.

The democrats are finding it ever more difficult to defend their run away entitlement abuses in America! The food stamp program is the most corrupt, expensive, wasteful, dependency generating government program in the world and getting worse every day!

Mountanman,

You really think the food stamp program is worse than the entitlement program for big oil companies?

Those doggone kids. Instead of getting free FOOD, they should be out working like, you know, back in Dickens' Day.

The Federal government needs to get out of business of taking my money and giving it to farmers and other people. If I wish to give farmers some of my hard earned cash, I'll buy their product. If I wish to donate to the hungry, I will do so of my own volition.

That's just the point, Bryan. Your "system" was tried. It leaves people hungry, many of whom can do little or nothing about it themselves. Of course, maybe you're really concerned with what Scrooge called "the surplus population." And sure, there are countries with little or no taxes, but you might have to hire your own security force to keep what's left in your hands.
