that mejri guy from Tunisia impresses me a lot. Can't wait till he plays in the olympics and hopefully the jazz can sign him to be our #3 center

Nice job Burks. Looking forward to continued improvement.

Very happy to see Burkes bounce back. Shows he is not going to lay down and he has the ability.

Kanter? I think Jazz fans are going to have to be real patient because when he got here last year he essentially had the equivalent of High School experience. No college experience is a big deal.

I hope he gets if figured out but I don't get the impression he is going to be a big star this year based on how he is performing against this weaker talent.

Right except that Kanter will never be a star. He can rebound and lay a body on people. That's it. He is no shot blocker or low post guy. To me that is obvious.

What position was Burks playing when he scored 31 points. My guess is SG. How many PG minutes did he get if any?

Burks was outstanding doing his slashing best and hitting 10 of 11 free throws. He played all his minutes at SG, as Michael Stockton and Blake Ahearn again got all the Jazz point minutes. Burks got lost some on defense, but he hustled well. Big difference when the opponent doesn't have a huge center like yesterday with Drummond out of Connecticut. Drummond really bothered Kanter, too, which was well documented with comments here.
Kanter is an outstanding rebounder who runs the floor pretty well, hits free throws and is slowly developing an offensive game. I think he is going to become an excellent power forward and back-up center. Maybe he won't start this year, but Kanter's minutes should go way up if Jefferson leaves.
Michael Stockton continues to impress as a very savvy, very active point guard. He is hard nosed like his dad, too. He will be playing in Germany this year, but would be a nice pickup for an NBA team down the road.

Even though Burks scored alot, I wasn't impressed, we know he can penetrate and score what we need to see is that he can pass and make his teammates better and he didn't show he could do either. He doesn't need to be playing the 1 to show he can pass and involve his teammate , Hayward does it from the 2 or the 3 spot. Burks so far shows all he wants to do is shoot. I hope he grows up and learns how to be more of a team player, he has great tools but needs to learn how to use them to not only score but breakdown defenses and then pass to make his teammates better. That is one of the things that makes Hayward such a valuable player, he is getting better as a scorer but he also makes his teammates better. Kanter needs more touches but doesn't get the ball as much as he should, he will prove to be a good outside shooter and he will learn how to be patient in the low post. He's a hard worker and that will prove to make the difference.
