The tone should already be set! How much more do we need?
Regarding the healthcare "tax" or "penalty" - whether you are Democrat or Republican you can't have it both ways.
Obama loves it that the Supreme Court ruled as his team argued that it was a tax so that the mandate was not thrown out. But he can't then turn around and claim it is not a tax for political purposes (although he is trying his best to do so).
Republicans on the other hand would have loved to have it ruled as a penalty and the law thrown out, but then claim politically that Obama was trying to raise taxes.
Since the court has already ruled - it is a TAX, then Obama has to own up to that and take the heat politically for telling everyone he wouldn't raise taxes when he in fact has!
On Health Care it does not really matter whether its a tax or penalty! Neither way makes Health Care free or cheaper! It tears apart Freedom. Our choice of a doctor. It limits doctors earnings and destroys incentives to go into medicine! It doesn't promote innovation or solve the problem of the un-insured in emergency rooms! 11 million are illegals still.
8.2 percent unemployment number reconfirmed for another month. The good news is 80,000 jobs were created. The bad news is we needed 150,000-225,000 just to keep up with the natural increase in the labor market! Additional bad news: 400,000 more people are now without unemployment benefits and that means 400,000 more people moving toward being on the Food Stamp rolls that are already at a record level of 47,200,000 people!
The OMB says the Health Care plan in the next two years will cost families an increase of 2600 dollars. The Health Care Bill that had 2700 pages now has 10,200 pages of Regulations, Restrictions, Requirements and other points added to it! Each and every page takes away our Freedom and Choice!
President Obama has Failed!
Of all the people in America, we can't find anything better then an incompetent excuse maker?
Move aside and let Mitt do the job. Heck! I'll do it. I'll show people how to cut the fat and trim down, while improving lifestyle.
@worf, never having met you I would vote for you before I'd vote for Obama. And though I know nothing about you I am positive you could do a better job.
It sure will 'set the tone' won't it? The new tone is that 8-plus percent unemployment is the new normal in Barack Obama's 'fundamentally changed' America. How does everyone like this so far? How's the stimulus working out? You know we were told that we HAD to pass it so that unemployment wouldn't go over 8%. It has NEVER been back below 8% since. Now, if that prediction went that well, imagine how great the 'Affordable Care Act' is going to be for America. So at this point, anyone who is dead set on re-electing this guy is either stubbornly prideful or flat out stupid. How much more of this do you really want??
photographermom,
Wow! Great to know I'd get some votes. Time to tell Pakistan, and Egypt that we can't afford giving them aid. Instant savings of about six billion to build private sector jobs. How's that for a start?
"Jobs, jobs, jobs," that has been the president's mantra, but he has done little to create jobs. His Keynesian acolytes want him to borrow our way into prosperity. They obviously don't know about Greece and southern Europe. It truly is time for a change we can believe in.
