Sounds like a very interesting read. Though I haven't read it I am a big believer of angels

My first thought, from a perspective of faith, is that it was most likely the spirits of those who had just died there; as well as perhaps others visiting. To cynics, these things seem insane; but for believers, a statement like this elicits a response more like, "Well, yeah, that's not surprising." If you believe in God, you probably believe in angels; if you believe in angels, you probably believe that sometimes they might be seen. Which means most Americans believe that angels are seen from time to time.

Of course, from a perspective of psychology, in which I have some training as well, there are those people who simply imagine things, conjured from their own psyche, often as projections. There's nothing apparent here that would seem to indicate this is the case for this lady, and there are several character witnesses on her side as well. On the whole, I'm inclined to believe her. Not that I can see that it would matter much to most of us, as a practical matter.

As a Christian I believe there are things we can't explain. But, the logical side of me questions why, if miracles like angels appearing can happen, God allowed the loss of innocents to occur in the first place. Maybe it really does rain on the just and the unjust alike.

I'm inclined to agree with Joe Moe that what she saw were the spirits of those who had died there. She is recognizing them as angels and that's fine. But, the "loss of innocents" is not a punishment. Death is just a rebirth into a new life. I'm glad this woman has had the courage to write her book and share her story. This is also a reminder that any of us can be taken at any time. We need to have our lives in order.
