This is what society does like when radical religionists seek to purge and purify any and all those who they see as different, unrighteous, unworthy, and wrong.
Intolerence.
Void of Diversity.
Beware - the same thing could happen right here.....
Appalling and outrageous.. and so very sad. Dr. Henry Louis Gates once hosted a program on PBS where he traveled to Timbuktu and examined some of the book collections. As I recall, some manuscripts were stacked in windowless rooms with dirt floors-- hardly ideal archival conditions-- and were falling apart. I wanted to take a scanner and pdf the whole collection (anyone want to spot me a $100k grant?). I hope the books survive this onslaught.
How is that humans can be so certain of their own version of the truth as the only one that matters that they are compelled to destroy any conflicting truth?
LDSL: "Beware - the same thing could happen right here...."
Different in degree but not in kind from the recent events in the Davis County school library.
