Who will the Jazz give up in this trade?
I like it. We need confident outside shooting. He also brings tenatious defense and solid point guard skills. Jazz fans hated to see him go and would love to welcome him back. Yes let's have mo Mo! Do it Mo!
It was painful to see Mo leave in the first place. Mo would thrive in the Utah offense. We can only hope Mo wants to come back to Utah!
We are being a big cagey on who Dallas would take. I heard rumors of Devin Harris returning to the Mavs, but the latest rumors don't say that anymore.
Mo was always my favorite ! love him and hope we bring him back
According to the reports I've read, the Jazz would not give up anyone in this deal. Their trade exception (from trading Memo Okur to New Jersey last season) would cover Mo Williams' salary.
Dallas doesn't want to take any money back, because they're making room for D-Will and other pieces. That's why they need the Jazz's help (and why they wouldn't want Devin Harris). Otherwise, under salary cap rules, the Clippers could not take on Odom's contract without sending a certain amount of contract money back to Dallas.
Clippers would get: Lamar Odom from Dallas
Jazz would get: Mo Williams from Clippers
Dallas would get: Trade exception from Jazz (in other words, nothing, but they get Odom's salary off their books)
All of this is dependent on Mo activating his player option for next year. If he doesn't, he becomes a free agent. So it's up to him to decide if he wants $8.5M guaranteed for one year in Utah, or to test the open market.
Isn.t that about the same salary as Harris ?
