    @NavalVet

    Maybe U should read MY post before U reply. I never said that BYU's academic standards were increasing, nor did I say that the U's standards were decreasing. I was simply responding to your claim that the U's academic standards have only been increasing over the last few years. Which is true...they've increased from a required 2.4 GPA to a 2.6 GPA.

    I pointed out that that is still FAR short of BYU's 3.0 GPA requirements and took the opportunity to drop some smack on your beloved Utes.

    Next time U try to smack talk, bro, I'd suggest U come up with something better than "Try actually READING the posts before you reply. Don't be so frantic and emotional" since that tends to backfire.

    The U has lower academic standards than BYU, is completely irrelevant except to those who watch KJZZ...and U run your football facilities out of a trailer park.

    That's about as 'WACish' and 'mid-majorish' as it gets.

    Good ol' Utah. U fall short of your big brother BYU in academics, athletics, and everything in between.

    So sad

    :)

    Go Cougars!

    truecoug1:

    That bit of unfounded anecdotal evidence does not suggest that the Indy-WACers have been "increasing" their standards. To reflect an "increasing" standard, the Indy-WACers must show the minimum standards for Y players THIS year are higher than the minimum standards for Y players LAST year.

    Likewise, for the U to have lowered our standards - as 4601 fraudulently claimed - there would have to be evidence that the minimum standards for U players THIS year are lower thant he minimum standards for U players LAST year.

    Try actually READING the posts before you reply. Don't be so frantic and emotional.

    @byufan1993 in response to your collie and pitta "are the ones in the NFL" comment, Hall plays for the Cardinals, they're all in the NFL.

    As for all the Ute fans searching for justification of their love of the U of U, it doesn't matter what conference you're in, or how many 2nd place finishes u have, etc., etc. The simple fact of the matter is that U will always be the little "red-headed step child" they have always been. Get a shrink, take up a new hobby like knitting; I don't care what it is you do to get over your insecurities, but what ever you do, give it a rest already! You're done!! We don't care! BYU has been, and always will be, better.

    @NavalVet "Utah's standards academic standards had only INCREASED since the Sugar Bowl."

    The only increase I know of in Utah's academic standards is how they increased their required GPA for incoming athletes from a 2.4 to a 2.6 when they entered the PAC 12 (wow...that's pretty rigorous).

    BYU's is a 3.3 with a 19 on the ACT or a 3.0 with a 24.

    The D News also showed the GPA for the Utah QB's this year and good ol' Jordan Wynn is in there at a 2.61. Good for him.

    Of course, that picture was taken in Utah's awesome trailer-park football facilities.

    Rather apropos, don't you think?

    :)

    Go Cougars!

    4601:

    "As utah continues to lower their academic standards and BYU raises theirs the utes will be more competitive. Utah has never been a rival, just another state college."

    Utah's standards academic standards had only INCREASED since the Sugar Bowl. I have no knowledge of any increases in the Y's academic standards. Y fans are so desperate to pin something negative on their big brothers, they have to play "make-believe" in order to find something. So sad for cougar fans everywhere.

    Trolls can only crack on BYU but never mention being way down in the PAC-12. They love you, the PAC needed another doormat. As utah continues to lower their academic standards and BYU raises theirs the utes will be more competitive. Utah has never been a rival, just another state college.

    Duckhunter:

    The view from T-3rd in the Pac-12 South is like this: Looking up at USC, Oregon, and Stanford, and looking down....WAAAAAAAY down, at the 54-10 losers. You look like ants from here.

    @charlie

    How's the view from the bottom of the pac12? 8th place is pretty far down there.

    How possibly, could anyone wonder why Utah fans are so happy to see the Y in the rear view mirror as they go on to bigger and better things? I can only expect that we now have 11 rivals that will provide many more awesome moments without the lows we had to endure on the way up the mountain. Ask us how the view is from here.

    I love Max, and Collie. Great guys, winners, speak truth. Pretty much everything you could ever want in a player in your program.

    Got to say I really don't like Max Hall and his attitude. He was a great quarterback. But he personified all the bad trash the Utes always say about us. Wish he had represented the university a lot better. Pitta and Collie let their work on the field do the talking. And look, they are the ones in the NFL now.

    Max Hall...

    He pilfers admission to RES and antagonizes Utah fans... the personification of class.

    Oh and let's not forget that since Hall's "controversial" comments in 2009 Utah is undefeated against BYU and the Cougars have watched helplessly as Utah has moved on the big leagues of college football.

    Nice...
