Nuff said ! The Kid can play and has proven it time and time again. I have no doubt DJ will be as successful a missonary in Puerto Rico as he has been on tha grid iron.

Thanks for the cardiac moments.

Oh Bruce it was Bud Pope from Desert Hill's who had all the pic's for the 3 A All-Star team. Just sayin.

Whats up on this message board ? I have left two now and nothing still ?

Anyway, great win for DJ, this kid can simply play ball people. Its to bad for all the All-Star teams that many #1 peospect's for variuos reasons, from all ready enrolling in college to family vacations did not play, none the less a very exciting game.

Tell me the PC and Judge coaches didn't lead the 3a teams this year. But then look at the rosters, so they still had their hands in it. This game and the DNews all state voting is a one sided - who you know affair!

Great coverage of the small schools 2 paragraphs and an entire article for the big schools. Great coverage desnews.

Fun game to watch, DJ didn't dominate the game but he made enough plays to win it. It helped having this coach calling the plays as well, Favero is as good a coach as there is in the state.
Shumway caught two long passes from Alta qb Tyson Blackner who looked strong as well coming of the knee injury in the playoffs.
Good stuff out there all night, they played like it meant something.

DJ is a beast! Nice close!

To Kokua, my bro, Bud Pope had the final pick but Vincent had the pic earlier in the game.

From number of participants, intensity, fan turn out, you name it, there was a noticeable difference between the two games. Not that it warranted the dramatic discrepancy in print coverage, as pointed out by cowboy51, but not too far off from that.

It appeared that the 5A/4A squads may have had more time to prepare than the 3 practices on Friday, 1 on Saturday morning the smaller schools had due to obvious geographical challenges. Regardless, how great is it to be watching football in June? Thanks to all the boys and coaches who accepted the invitation for priming us for the fall!

Does anyone know if they made DVDs of the games like last year and if so where someone can pick them up?

@ Old Hapa, not sure about the others but 4A/5A south practiced mon-fri 1 time a day before the game.

The Game was good, but the south should have won. The Lone Peak coaches choked. Have they ever heard of clock management? The game should have been 19-13 for the south, and could have been easily. Maybe LP and the coaches just are not that good and it was all Hansen like so many have speculated.

The north benefit was a logan coach, logan offense, logan QB.

The 4A/5A game was a LOT more fun to watch, more speed, intensity, talent... a whole different level of football.

Good to see the Aggies will be getting a talented QB in DJ.
