"We encourage everyone but the handful of Ron Paul supporters to vote."-Pignanelli
"the Ron Paul groupies will ever be with us"-Webb
Interesting. A Republican and a Democrat. One from the left and one from the right, and they both feel the need to take a shot at Ron Paul and his supporters. It's almost as if Ron Paul and others who cherish liberty are a threat to the two-party establishment. Please keep telling yourselves how irrelevant both he and his supporters are, as we quietly take over state organizations and local party committees and chairmanships as has been done in Iowa, Nevada, Alaska, and other states. Ron Paul's "audit the fed" bill will come up for a vote this summer. In it's 100 year history, the Federal Reserve has never faced a thorough audit. When Ron Paul first took office, there was virtually no one interested in supporting that kind of legislation. His bill to audit the fed now has over 200 cosponsors in the House. So yes, feel free to mock one of the few straight-talking honest politicians but don't say we didn't warn you.

Mr. Webb, you want to know why the young people aren't at Mitt Romney's events? They're at Ron Paul's. You can dismiss them all you want and watch as the Republican party continues to shrink, or you can ask him what it is he's saying that resonates with us. We're not a handful. We're not groupies. There are literally millions of Americans who understand the establishment of both parties has worked them over in countless ways. The Democrats claim to oppose wars then continue them. The Republicans claim to be for limited government and fiscal sanity and then spend like mad and add layers of bureaucracy. Our devotion is not to Ron Paul or any person, but to simple principles of individual liberty, peace, and honest money. I will be voting for Ron Paul on Tuesday. Not because I believe he will win the nomination or that my vote will make a difference in the final count. It's because voting isn't about picking winners, but standing by your principles. I believe life is sacred, liberty is precious, and the Constitution is inspired. My vote's for Ron Paul.
Last Utah General Legislative Session for 2011, I remember seeing bill after bill sponsored by Sen. Dan Liljenquist pass the house. I was amazed at the respect he and the bills had. I was amazed at how both republicans and democrats voted for them.
For example, his 2011 SB 180 Medicaid Reform bill passed both houses with no votes against it from either party and was signed by the Governor.
With at least 7 bills, both the house and senate, both republicans and democrats all voted for the reforms Senator Dan Liljenquist proposed. In all, 9 of his bills were signed by the Governor.
We need that in Washington DC. These are the same areas that are bankrupting our nation. Again, we need Dan Liljenquist in Washington DC. Yes, we have a US Senator with 35 years of seniority, but remember that in 2011, Senator Dan Liljenquist was still in his first 4 year term. He did it without seniority.
I endorse John Dougall to be the new Utah State Auditor, as I can't think of anyone better I would trust with $13 Billion dollars, that would make sure the audits are complete and understandable to everyone.
He has been Vice Chair of the House Executive Appropriations Committee, responsible to help with coordinating not only between all appropriations committees, but with the Senate. I have watched him repeatedly work to protect the money required at the hands of taxpayers to fund State operations.
The State Auditor is an administrative position. While I don't agree all the time with Governor Herbert, he has done well, despite not having degrees or certifications to match all of the areas he administers.
The Utah Constitution sets the requirements for Utah State Auditor, and there is no requirement for a CPA. John Dougall has an engineering degree and a MBA. He is a master with numbers.
I voted for John Dougall.
David King: This article looks at the big picture. While you certainly have the right to vote, there is a psychological and emotional swing that we need if we want conservative values in the White House (Mitt Romney). Voting for Ron Paul is a right you have, but we must look at the big picture here. In my opinion, the time to vote for Ron Paul has passed. RIght now, a vote for Ron Paul is a strength for President Obama.
I endorse Auston Johnson for State Auditor. He is an independent voice not encumbered by allegiances in the state Legislature or any other office or branch of government. He is the only candidate that is a qualified CPA. He will keep the auditor’s office independent, professional and free from political influence.
Dougall is the vice-chair of the Executive Appropriations Committee, but the Chair of the Executive Appropriations Committee in the Legislature, Lyle Hillyard has endorsed Auston Johnson for Sate Auditor. He knows the importance of having a qualified man as State Auditor.
Re-Elect Auston Johnson!!!
The discussion of this Attorney General race on KSL Sunday morning indicated that Swallow was ahead because of Name recognition. Unfortunately the problem may also be related to Name association. When discussing this race with a neighbor he said that Reyes sounded Spanish. The problem that I perceive is that an amazing number of voters will vote based on name recognition and a feel good, or chance decision to vote for a particular candidate.
I had the opportunity to visit with both of these candidates prior to the convention. What I decided that Mr. Swallow was from the establishment , that he is the career politician, and he boasts of achievements derived from the work of his subordinates. He inflated the importance of Utah's part in the OBAMA health care case.
Sean Reyes came across as intelligent and well qualified for the position. He has been endorsed by many of his associates in the legal profession. He also holds a higher rating in the bars rating system that Mr Swallow (Who does not have one)
Vote for ability not for Ethnicity, or be influenced by those who have hand-picked an individual to replace themselves.
@David King
Glad you will vote for Ron Paul. We already voted for him as we expect to be out of town on election day.
