Maybe BYU should join the PAC12...hahahahahahah

The ONLY ones comparing BYU to Notre Dame, or suggesting Notre Dame would look out for BYU's interests are the Ute Trolls. The article merely states that concessions made to Notre Dame MAY have a positive impact on other independents. Of course ND is only looking out for themselves. The only ones stating otherwise are the same irrational, BYU-obsessed trolls with their same old, tiresome, straw man arguments over and over and over again.

"BYU has never spoken to the Big 12 EVER, which is a fact."

Oh, so Chip Brown must have been lying in his recent interview. As a fellow Dallas resident, I hope you recognize he is one of the best connected media types on the Big12. The following is a quote from a recent interview.

"The Big 12 identified BYU as a potential expansion target when Dan Beebe was commissioner. BYU was a serious candidate for expansion until last September, when OU destabilized the Big 12 when it tried to go to the Pac12. At that point, BYU officials were turned off by the instability and backed away, saying it cherished its independence."

Please stick with Utah and Hawaii. U don't seem to know so much about BYU, other than hatred.

Notre Dame is HUGE nation wide - in Football Notre Dame is legendary and has always been an independent. BYU has found itself in independence waste land not by choice but because they couldn't get into the Pac12 or Big12. Where else do they go? Back to the Mountain West? How many more years are fans going to flock to Edwards Stadium to watch Weber State or Idaho?? Really - BYU has fallen so far so fast it makes the head spin.I remember back in the 80's and 90's going to Provo to watch a top 10 BYU play Notre Dame or UCLA or Penn State. HUGE games that were so fun to watch. I watched BYU beat Miami and saw the goal posts torn down. Now you get to see BYU play teams that are barely division one. Let's stop fooling ourselves here and state the obvious - BYU is in BIG trouble and this sort of mediocrity can't continue for long before the recruits begin to dry up and the national brand turns into a has been. It's Big 12 or bust for the Y!!

It's touching that our little brothers are soooooo "concerned" with their big brother's future.

The truth is, Utah fans are green with envy of the local and national media attention constantly being received by the Cougars. Despite their power conference status and claims that they've left BYU behind, Utah fans remain obsessed with and crave the constant attention of their big brother.

One thing's for sure, Utah will NEVER be compared to Notre Dame - a legacy program with national championships, Heisman Trophy winners, national college football hall of fame players, and a national fanbase.

BYU in the BCS era is the "Liberty U of the west" certainly not a Notre Dame, in the least. I love watching Notre Dame play prime time games on NBC against great teams on every Saturday afternoon. Millions and millions of fans feel the same way. They are the ONLY school to have a national contract. Oh, and of course, a midnight game EST on Thursday, BYU vs NMSU, or the likes............all 7.5 billion souls on this earth will be tuned in to watch BYU win............a "storied" program for sure?

Despite your meaningless hyperbole, BYU's 8-year contract with ESPN is just as much a NATIONAL contract as Notre Dame's contract with NBC - only a delusion BYU hater would try to claim that game times are a factor - the ONLY factor in determining whether a contract is a national contract is whether the games are televised nationally - which, unlike Utah's regional PAC 12 channel games, BYU's game have been and will continue to be.

fyi, BYU's games last season averaged over FOUR TIMES more viewers than Utah's games.

@ Phoenix,

Oh contraire my friend......... BYU recruited me for a jazz music scholly and I told them to get lost! I went to the U on a full ride. When my little bro, a great golfer and captain of the U golf team for all 4 years, now an ER doc, was recruited by UH, he turned them down because their pre-med program wasn't up to snuff. But, he did say, talk to my brother, because he is a great golfer, ranked #39 in the NCAA my senior year at UH, which I was, then UH gave me the full ride they offered my lil' bro. I graduated from Utah early and got a FREE MBA from UH. Say what you want bro........BYU stinks! By the way, I scored a 33 on the ACT and had a 3.97 GPA at Cottonwood HS. I actually rejected an academic scholly to Yale and Princeton. Go drink some more blue Y KoolAid!

Who, in this world, would NOT accept a full ride scholarship to play golf for the University of Hawaii? Not one soul on this planet. I had so much fun, a great education and lived in Hawaii for free for two years. Man O man.........maybe Provo, Utah is way better? BWAHAHAHAHA! Utah Lake smells so wonderful, doesn't it?

I think I'm with Bronco.........he places football 5th on his list of priorities, and surfing #1. I think I'll call and invite him to surf the North Shore on Oahu in February. We will get some monster tubes together.........but it is VERY dangerous!

I remember when the BYU music dept. came to my parent's home to recruit me.........of course BYU's "Synthesis" band was great..........I knew, and knew that. Then, they handed me the "Honor Code" papers........I cannot tell you folks what I said, but my mom slapped me VERY hard. How many recruits have felt the same way?............LOTS!

I was a professional trumpet player and a McDonald's All-American since the 9th grade. College is for adults! If you "choose" to go to BYU, you know what the rules are. For that school to enforce a "Honor Code" defeats their purpose. Everyone knows what the LDS folks expect.......seriously. What always urked me, is that they have an organization at BYU that compels kids to tattle on one-another. Sad, in the purest sense of the word.

I want to audit an anthropology class at BYU. That would be funny! Better yet, can I study Freud, Voltaire, Thomas Jefferson, or a myriad of other genius minds at BYU? Absolutely not a chance. BYU is unique. That is a fact!

Can I say this, who is gonna watch BYU's schedule in November on BYUtv? Wow, probably nobody!

"Only a delusional BYU fan would think that people watch the Cougars more on ESPN. Than people watch Notre Dame on NBC."

Only a green with envy Utah fan would draw that conclusion from phoenix's post. There's no significant difference between a national broadcast on ESPN and a national broadcast on NBC, they're both national broadcasts and the vast majority of college football fans have access to both. Nobody said that BYU's audiences are as big as Notre Dame's, but BYU's audiences are significantly bigger than Utah's audiences - that's not just hyperbole, that's a FACT!

The following is the extent of how much Notre Dame cares about BYU:

a Six year contract to play football. Four games in Indiana and two games in Provo.

That's it.

@ SportsFan,

It doesn't matter one iota. BYU is in serious trouble. NOBODY will watch that pathetic November schedule. Not a soul.
