I think this fire is wrongfully being blamed on casual shooting and plinking. Only authorized county workers are allowed in the dump site to shoot guns.
And since the dumps are occupied by workers on weekends it is safe to assume this was an authorized use of guns in the dump site to rid it of scavengers, animals, and rats. The news media is trying to blame it wrongfully on sport shooters of Utah. More fodder for lies and implementation of gun control laws.
The state passed laws years ago that banned people entering and shooting their guns in the dumps so this story is misleading and being untruthful about how it started. Government policy and operations is responsible for the fire, not sportsmen breaking in to the dump site.
I think the DN and the rest of the Utah news media owes the people of Utah an apology for wrongfully accusing sports hunters in starting this fire. Not only that, this means the dump operators and county are liable for damages for starting the fire and burning homes and property just like the Army did to Herriman.
Now even the DNews has turned into the evil Liberal media!
Love it.
But in all seriousness, it's way to hot today for tin foil hats. Safety first.
