"Hey, don't bother me now. I'm in a photo op and don't want to answer questions about incompetence and corruption in my Department of Justice. I didn't want to use the immigration thing and this student loan bit until closer to the election, but things aren't going well right now."
Yet another case of Republicans stalling as long as possible in order to try to cause the President some pain. It is very reminiscent of the payroll tax and debt ceiling debates. The GOP don't mind holding the middle class hostage.
"Hey, don't bother us now. We're trying to score some political points by leveraging a baseless far right accusation into something we can ride to victory while our guy says as little as possible about immigration. Anyway, that student loan thing? We've got a whole week to find a way to spin that one before the added rates kick in."
