Kids should have been arrested for disorderly conduct. Once parents pay a fine, the problem will be largely solved.
To do nothing is weak, and makes the police department, and school district as guilty as the bullies.
As we see with the Attorney General, White House leaks, secret service prostitution, and the Les Vegas money scandal, there is little backbone for promoting justice.
This is a horrible thing those kids did! They better get more than a slap on the wrist! Some kind of community service all summer long, at the least!
Where was the bus driver, I'm wondering.
Kids can behave terribly. Some of them grow out of it and look back with embarrassment, while some of them behave just as poorly in adulthood.
It really is important for teachers and parents to step in. When I was growing up, there wasn't any of the bullying prevention you see now. I can remember situations where kids were picking on another child right in front of the assistant principal.........and he did nothing. Just went on about his business.
horrible parenting. hold the parents accountable.
Absolutely no one can argue that there is any valid argument to condone the actions of those students. With this attention, it will probably be better for awhile, then (unfortunately) gradually get back to a similar situation.
I sincerely hope that this 68 year old grandmother takes the $175,000 donated to her and chooses to retire with it while she is still feeling and enjoying all the positive support.
Kick the kids off of football, basketball, wrestling, field trips, and any other extra curricular activities in which they are involved. Make them do community service for 8 hours every weekend for a year. Put cameras on the bus and have parents go on the bus to monitor each others kids.
I hope this lady takes the money and runs.
