As I've heard others say, this sort of calls into question the whole idea of Jerry Sloan quitting from the Jazz just because he didn't have a passion for it anymore.
I'm not saying that management has to give us all the details of last year's saga, only that the official story seemed suspect, and this only makes it that much more so. It would be very refreshing to see Greg Miller or Kevin O'Connor say, in effect "We made a mistake. We chose our star player over our coach on what we thought was a very minor issue, and he reacted in a way we didn't expect, which was to quit." But this whole idea that Jerry didn't have the "fire in the belly" to deal with coaching anymore seems absurd, especially when he's trying to get a coaching job so soon.
Best of luck, Jerry! That franchise has nowhere to go but up! To the Charlotte Bobcats--if this goes over, be ready to learn something about the word "tough."
Michael Jordan looked emotional when watching Sloan's HOF induction speech. I think he has great respect for Jerry.
Mark my words now it will happen. Nothing new about a comeback. Clear the lockers of the headbands..
