The righteous life of Cathy Stokes
Great person, great article, though it kind of just stops in mid thought. Hope
there is a art two coming!
Cathy Stokes, adopted me 16, years ago. I was 22 had just "inherited" 7
kids and Keith and I found out we were expecting... My parents had both suffered
from debilitating illnesses and I felt alone. Mama Cathy, was my angel, and has
been an angel to my children. If not for the Love of GRANDMA Cathy, my kids
would not know a grandmother. We love Cathy Stokes!
I met Sis Stokes a few years ago in Boston, after using her testimony video a
lot on my mission, I almost felt I already knew her. What a great lady, and it
was honor to shake her hand and call her sister.
Just one more family whose life was blessed by wonderful Sister Stokes. Thanks, Cathy!
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful story. Sister Stokes, may you be an
instrument in God's hands always! You inspire me to try a little harder to
be a little better.
God bless you Sister Stokes!
Such a good story about a wonderful woman. I can just imagine how great it
would be to be around her.
Great article on a great person. As a former member of the Hyde Park
Branch/Ward, I can confirm what a great person Cathy is and how well loved she
Cathy "adopted" me in 1999 while I was a lonely student in Chicago. She
didn't have to take and interest in me...I was just an 18 month interloper
in her ward while I worked on my graduate degree. Yet, she recognized my need,
sought me out...fed me and gave me advice when I needed it the most. Her direct manner and keen sense of humor combine to make her one of the most
quotable people I've ever known. When I informed her that I had a new
girlfriend (now my wife) she gave me a colorful lecture on remaining chaste.
Funny stuff...but totally from her heart. A few years ago we
received a postcard of the Sydney Opera House. On the back it said "If you
haven't done this....DO IT! Love, Cathy." I love Cathy.
This world needs more heroes like her. - Jeremy JensenIssaquah, WA
Great story about a great person.Keep up the good work Sister
Neat story of a woman seems to live the word through her actions and is not
afraid to speak up when things need improvement. Thank you Ms. Stokes for a
lifetime of service to Gods's children (us). Best of everything to you.
