In January California Gov. Jerry Brown, a Democrat, predicted a budget deficit of $9.2 billion. Just four short months later that deficit has grown to $16 billion dollars. Everybody knew he and the legislature was using fuzzy math to come up with their bogus budget numbers. We currently have a president, another Democrat, with the same mind set running our country into bankruptcy. "It's the economy stupid".

I wonder if R-man was one of those who thought that putting Schwarzenegger in as governor would mean that everything in CA was going to run smoothly from then on. As for the nation, I'd love an intelligent explanation of how the Ryan budget will put the US in the black, but I fear no such explanation exists.

Mark B,

Giving billions to other countries, and taking multi-billion dollar presidential vacations is one way the Ryan budget will cut and curb spending.

If you don't believe the vacation figure, go to a search engine and look up "Obama India vacation". Surf the other vacations. Hmm! Was taxes paid?

Today was primary here in Nebraska. He was in Omaha last Thursday for a few hours a d than to a big fundraiser. Oregon was the only other state that I know of that had its primary today. You'd think he would have it the trail in Oregon or here. I hate to burst anyones bubble but nebraska's and Iowa unemployment rate is about the same and we are not abounding in job growth. This past year wasn't a bad year for the farmers but things are so expensive to be in that livelihood unless you are in corporate farming. The jobs that are a available where I live at have been the same for so long.

NO. I don't believe that a billion dollar vacation is possible unless you've brought an army with you to spend a day in Iraq.

No, not for a second. Gov. Schwarzenegger did however do battle with California's liberal legislature in an attempt to slow their inevitable decent into bankruptcy. People in California like to forget that the only reason a liberal Republican was elected Governor was because of a man named Gray Davis.

California financial disaster is a classic example of everything wrong in our country ..... and it is only going to get worse.

Tell you what. Let's just assume that R-man is against all efforts associated with a (D), and that only thinking like his will bring the sunshine of prosperity back to the USA. That way he can save hours of time writing to tell us so. He's already got Utah convinced that SOMEONE must stand up for the RICH before it's too late.

In Jan. California Gov. Jerry Brown said their state deficit was $9.2 billion dollars. Four months later he now says it has ballooned to $16 billion. Brown wants to increase the burden the taxpayers are carrying to support all their socialist programs. Hopefully the taxpayers will tell him no.

Uthans may not be as sophisticated as our brothren on the left coast but at least we aren't drowning in a sea of red ink ..... without a life jacket.

"Press secretary Jay Carney blamed federal overspending primarily on Romney-backed tax cuts for the wealthy that were enacted during President Bush's administration"

The WH must think if they repeat a lie often enough people will believe it.

Look at the language used - blaming overspending on a tax cut? Overspending is caused by spending too much, not by tax cuts. A simple understanding of English tells you that.

as for the tax cuts, lower tax rates were reduced by 500 basis points, the top rate by only 460 basis points, and those in the top brackets could not take advantage of the doubling of the child tax credit because they don't qualify for it. The bush tax cuts are one of the reasons 47% of us pay NO income tax at all. How could a wealthy individual who is still paying taxes have benefited more than a moderate wage earner who is now paying NO income taxes?

BO has rung up more debt in 3-1/4 years than bush did in 8; the prarie fire of debt is ALL his. claiming spending was needed to fix things is a lie (typical dem); there were other remedies available
