I think that one advantage of Netanyahu's bold move is that the next time Avigdor Lieberman, his far-right foreign minister, does something or says something stupid that Netanyahu can say, "What in the world was I thinking when I assigned this bozo to this position?" and he can fire him and if the far-right parties leave his coalition his government won't. Because, now he has a moderate party in his government.
However, I don't think that Netanyahu has the imagination or the principle. He is, after all, a politician.
Israeli blowhards need to stop writing cheques on our bravado account.
I think it is time for us to remember that Israel is our ally, and Iran is far from it.
Krauthammer has once again explained a very tough situation in simple terms. It would be anologous to Utah being surrounded by States that have called for Utah's destruction. What would the State do and who would come to Utah's aid? Utah would have to be prepared. The Middle East has made it very clear the desired outcome for Israel. It is amazing in this day and age we as humans still need to destroy that which is different. If the Middle East didn't have Israel to blame it would be the West. It would never occur to the Middle East they have made choices that have kept their countries powerless to progress. Yet, according to the Koran their can not be any other government unless it is Islam. A theocracy not a democracy.

Israel take action against Iran early to mid-summer. When they do it will have a negative effect on the world economy and that will be on the voter's minds this coming November. Bill Clinton's campaign slogan was "It's the economy stupid" and now it will be the Republican's turn to use it.
@ Hutterite
Israel has never had the reputation as a blowhard. Their Six-Day War in June of 1967 proved that without the slightest doubt. In the 1982 Lebanon War the IAF managed to shoot down 86 Syrian aircraft without losing a single fighter plane in an air to air combat.
They may be a lot of things but being blowhards isn't one of them.

It's actually the US that will shortly be doing the writing -- a very large IOU.
In return for Israel's/Netanyahu's courage and resolute action in the face of our cowardice and vacillating appeasement.
