Especially Favors and Burks, but Kanter to a lesser degree, needed more minutes around half way through the season. Why do it now? I think that the Jazz should try to win this game, and to do that, Favors needs to play 30+ minutes and Burks 25 or so.

favors should be playing 30 min a game. but you don't have to bench the rest of the team to do that. you put in your best players not your youngest. all the numbers show the best team is favors al and millsap playing together, for some reason they are not starting together. he would rather start howard than play the big 3 not too smart to yank carrol for howard and just as smart to not start the big 3. maby i could see one game but all 3? be about as smart to bench they players that got you to the playoffs to play the (younger players )

The best players for the Jazz are not starting right now. Clearly Hayward has been a dissappointment this series and has been streaky all year. I like Hayward but he struggles mightly at times. I agree the best team starts Favors with Al and Milsap. It gives the Jazz an advantage on the front line over just about everyone. Al still struggles passing the ball and plays no defense. favors and Milsap could help compensate for that lack of passing. Burks has been impressive with the energy he shows and seems to be the only Jazz that wants to get into the paint on the offensive side of the ball and bet into the Spurs mug on the defensive side. His athletsism is sorely missing when he sits the bench. Finally the Jazz are still missing a true point guard and 3 point threat at any position. The spurs have flourished on an inside game with Duncan and Parker with a 3 pt efficiancy the highest in league thanks to role players. Why the Jazz drafted Kanter is still a huge ??

"At the same time, he got the Jazz into the playoffs — an impressive development by itself."

Just because the Jazz made the playoffs playing the veterans it doesn't automatically follow they WOULDN'T have made the playoffs playing the youngsters more. What we DO know:

- A key to player development is playing time.
- This season had less practice time than any other season.
- A season went by without the youngsters getting significant playing time AND without them getting significant practice time.
- A compressed schedule contributed to more significant fatigue. That fatigue could've been offset by playing the youngsters more.
- The Jazz are getting their butts handed to them by a coach who was wise enough to rest his veterans during the season, giving them whole games off, even multiple games.
- Fatigue one year leads to players breaking down the next year. We've seen Olympic players breakdown in the following year after not having the summer off.

The Jazz wasted this season and wasted a year of development for the youngsters. Not only that, but they put the long-term health of their veterans at risk.

That poll doesn't give you enough selection choices.

You can't pick just one playoff disappointment:
Milsap- Disappointing Playoff Play
AJ- Disappointing Playoff Play
Harris- Disappointing Playoff Play
Hayward- Disappointing Playoff Play (very inconsistent all season apart from March/April)
Howard- Disappointing Playoff Play

The STARTING veterans have been a let down. Why do they continue to get minutes? Is Sloan behind the curtain?

I have bagged on Raja alot this year but I think he could be useful on defense.

Start Favors and Burks and let them run wild.

May we hear an Amen, brother?

This whole year should have been about developing the kids, not sucking up to the vets.

If the inefficient vets wouldn't have got injured, forcing Ty to play the kids, the Jazz wouldn't have even made the playoffs.

Ty has got to shed the Sloan legacy of playing experience over talent.

A player who starts gets more time. Start Favors!

Stop playing unrestricted free agents! Are the Jazz showcasing them for the rest of the league?

Play and develop the young players coming back next year for sure.

This year should have been all about development. The playoffs were a bonus.

Ty should be playing the best performing player, not rushing to get a vet back in, because you want a set rotation. How many times have we seen the kids come back, only to see that comeback evaporate when the vets come back in.

Unfortunately Corbin has been playing salaries not talent. He is nervous about which veterans will be here next season and as such does not want to burn his bridges with whoever remains.

I sure hope they find a way to unload Al and keep Millsap. Millsap is a worker and clearly has a better more rounded complete game.

OKC was ugly for several seasons when they put their youth on the floor to play. Durrant shot like 39% FG% for his first season. It was ugly to watch but look at them now.

I'm not suggesting we have that level of talent equivalent to Durrant, Harden, and Westbrooke (Yes, that is the order I believe that is the talent list is in in terms of who helps their team the most) but we do have some good young talent but they need minutes in order to get the confidence to see what they can do.

Get Jefferson out of here.

The starters should be Harris, Hayward, Carrol, Millsap, and Favors. Burkes should be first off the bench.

Harris has to go too. He has played better individually but he is not playmaker/lousy at setting up his team mates.

The Jazz didn't make the playoffs playing veterans.

Howard, Raja, CJ all were starting and got hurt. They are also inefficient players. This forced Ty to play younger players at those positions. They were more efficient.

More efficient players win more games.

The younger Jazz players are more efficient.

Half of the possessions are defensive. It's not how much you score, but how efficiently you do it and how well you play defense.

How do all of you commentors and couch potatos feel now that the Jazz are swept, and lost 2 first round picks just to be respectful, honest and whatever in not losing another game or two? Now where do we go? Pay veterans that are overpaid as it is? C'mon Jazz management, let's operate this as a business which it is and do whats best for the future! Miles, Bell, Jefferson, Harris and Watson need their pink slips at seasons end. Stock a couple 3 point shooters with the trades and get a first round pick back!

change the shooting coach...i mean come on...last game burks was at 0-7 hayward was at 0-8...something must be wrong...i think...the lineup should be

Favors
Millsap
Hayward
Burks
Harris...

yes no Big Al...coz i'd rather trade him...Enes Kanter gets first off bench...to change either Millsap or Favors...Caroll subs in for Burks or Hayward...Tinsely subs in for Harris...Evans subs in for Hayward...or Millsap...if i had a chance to trade harris...i'll trade him also...and probably try to sign Goran Dragic...i'll change the entire coaching staff as well...hire a better shooting coach...one that would lead to positive results...probably the shooting coach of steve kerr during his Chicago and SA days...

giving heavy minutes...to the young players...may not get us a playoff spot...but..it will gain experience and chemistry...it takes time to get a championship...and if the management thinks that the current team can compete for a championship...they're fooling themselves...
