WOW!! why daddy!!! and i really hope you aren't a myopic BYU daddy!! mmmm
8 likes to your 2 likes.. twice of urs...please don't let your kids become
the sheep like you are...so blind..i get it whydadddy, but are u still in the
1980's like duckhunter still blind to a new reality????
BYU can't thump any top 30 team. We Utah fans gotta hope for Whit vs Urban.
Oh my gosh......what a battle that would be??????????? I think that Montana
State would crush lowly BYU.........I sure hope we don't schedule BYU until
2030.......hopefully I'll be dead!
In recent weeks, rumored phone calls between Ohio State and Utah, the "buy
out" Utah made to Utah state..........What Utah fan would not wanna see a
"home and home" series between Kyle Whittingham and Urban Meyer? Oh my
goodness........that would be EPIC! And, it is in the "works" currently.
I don't wanna see "old news" BYU ever again. ARMY football is WAY
better than BYU historically......by far. BYU is a WAC team.......and is why
they are there AGAIN. One cupcake, Utah State and a Big-10 team............then
we gotta play well against the PAC! Gooooooo Utes! Utah will turn heads this
year AGAIN, and in the future. I wanna say this..........every darn class that I
took at the U was taught by a great professor. Utah taught me so much........a
great school. And, I'm honored to have attended there.
Just because McKay wasn't a significant performer on a BYU team that lost
54-10 at home last year does not mean he can't make it in the NFL. Give
the kid a chance......or we could ask the Duckhunter if the kid will
make it and he would end the suspense with the correct answer.
@mlhSome of the most bitter, and hilarious, tripe ever posted on
these boards are the comments you just made. Your angst just oozed from the
Utah has a contract(s) with a quality mid-major program.....Utah State, a
program that is on the rise, and has huge U of U connections. The U recently
bought out Utah State for $500k for 2014. Utah needs one cupcake, a mid-major
and a BIG-10 team for non-conference scheduling. The reason Utah hasn't
scheduled BYU, is because a home and home series is imminent with the BIG-10.
Utah owes NOTHING to struggling BYU. I wanna play USU, not BYU. Their fans are
nice. Colorado is our rival now. BYU football is pathetic. I neva wanna watch
them play Utah after 2012. Evolution will be of benefit to my desires. I am
lucky! Gooooo Utes!
Y DadWhat accomplishment did I put in there is something it
isn't? Am I being called a liar? And I just love the way you guys use the
word pathetic when it comes to 18-22 year old kids. Nothing was more pathetic
than that team of yours that took the field last year against Utah, don't
smack until your team can back it up Mr WAC Champ. You lost to the good teams
and beat the bad ones.phoenixUtah will NEVER run from
the Y, the Utes own that program right now. The last ten years the cougs have
won 3 games, last year was just the start of domination, The Y doesn't want
to play Utah because it is an atomatic loss. Utah doesn't need the Y, but
I for one still hope the games are played smack from fans that walked out on
thier team are always special. I hope you are there on the 22nd you and y daddy
can walk out after half time together and discuss what is wrong. Your team will
be 0-3 by then.
Navel VetThere won't be ANY relevant AQ conferences after 2013
so you're just going to have to accept reality:4 PAC wins - 5
PAC losses - 1 BYU loss - 1 B10 loss + 1 NoColo win = 5 wins - 7 losses = NO
BOWL for UTHAT's the ONLY reason Utah is running away from BYU
to play a 2nd NoColo!U just aren't competitive in the PAC and U
Good luck to the young man! He's going to one of my all time favorite
Marked it Down:"You're just jealous that the Utes were only
able to win TWO championships in their FOUR DECADES in the conference."Jealous? Nope. We're in the Pac-12; aka the first choice of
conferences the cougars have been desperately posturing and pleading to get
into. You're in the crumbling WAC. I'm afraid the jealousy is on the
10 side of last season's 54-10 drubbing. You couldn't get into the
your first choice -- the Pac-10, and you couldn't get into your second
choice -- the Big 12. No relevant AQ conferences wanted you.All
those WAC championships, and nobody was impressed. Two BCS bowls for the Utes,
and the Pac-10 took immediate notice. So you're teeming with envy.
Ute-envy that is! Own it.
HCB63So if I remember, and as you can tell, I really don't care
about the NFL other than watching former cougs to see if they can do well at the
next level, I think Utah State had more players drafted this year than Utah or
BYU. Point? Inconclusive. The year BYU beat Oklahoma, by the way, a
team which many Utah fans have since spent incredible energy decrying as NOT a
good football team, Oklahoma had SEVEN players drafted. What did BYU have, one?
I seem to recall that the year Utah had six or seven players drafted, BYU beat
U. Point? Inconclusive. That a consistently good team will have a
consistently decent number of players drafted is not subject to debate. But the
two facts travel in tandem; one is not universally dependent on the other.MLHSuch venom! I'll just say this: Colorado has been
pathetic no matter WHICH conference they play in and no matter who they play.
And nothing I said cheapens the players who have been good enough to move on and
up. On the contrary, I think it cheapens them to try to account their
accomplishment for something it isn't.
Utah-Hawaii AlumThere are lots of bigotted people out there.
Where's your proof that Tom Holmoe has been making "frantic" phone
calls that have gone unanswered by the Big 12? You're hillarious with your
clueless prognostications and fabrications.btw, the WAC is all but
dead, so you're going to have to come up with something else for your weak
smack.btw2, 25% of the 120 D1-A teams have played in the WAC at some
point during the 50-year history of the WAC, including 25% of the current PAC
12.You're just jealous that the Utes were only able to win TWO
championships in their FOUR DECADES in the conference.Pathetic!Enjoy being a bottom-dweller in the Pathetic 12.
@ uteanymous, there were a lot of reasons why the PAC-10 didn't give BYU
the time of day. The same reasons why the Big-12 has never returned one frantic
call from Tom Holmoe. Folks don't care for BYU very much. Enjoy the
WAC......where you belong!
Papasmurf"It is easy to accomplish more with less when you play

actually did happen.BYU fans can play that game too.Based on #34 BYU beating #35 Tulsa, only losing to #17 Texas by a single point
on the road, and playing UTAH's schedule, BYU would have finished 11-3,
would have won the PAC 12 South with an 8-1 conference record (tied with Oregon

papaute"Actually, Colorado was invited, then Scot talked to
Chris Hill about joining, then they decided to go gang busters, and invite some
members of the Big 12,..."You're soooo delusional with your
revisionist history.Colorado was invited AFTER the Big 12 South
merger was already nearly a done deal. Why? Because the PAC 12 religious bigots
objected to including Baylor, so Colorado was hastily invited to shut Baylor out
of the picture, leaving spots only for Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M,
Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State -- a nice even 16-team league. Then Texas A&M
developed Long Horn envy and started exploring opportunities to join the SEC and
the PAC 12/Big 12 South merger fell apart. Scott then went to his backup plan,
inviting the 2nd best team from Utah, picking up the smaller share of the Utah
market and the inferior athletic program, but sticking to the directive not to
invite a religiously affiliated school.
HHog ended his troll comments with "Nuff said." The rest of the world
can only hope.
Phoenix,It is easy to accomplish more with less when you play LESS
every single game outside of Sept, and then TCU in October. Utah St would have
had the exact same record as you had they played that schedule. Maybe even 1
more win against Texas. SUU might have as well had the same record. It is always
nice to have 2 byes in Nov to get ready for those 8:30 mountain time games
against Idaho and New Mexico St. Any half whit team with that much rest in Nov,
getting ready to play those really tough games would be able to accomplish more
Too smart for nothing,Actually, Colorado was invited, then Scot
talked to Chris Hill about joining, then they decided to go gang busters, and
invite some members of the Big 12, which they KNEW was a long shot, and that
some of those teams would stay in the Big 12 or go to the SEC. So according to
people in the know, that actually were in the rooms discussing these things, the
UTES were in the whole time. No matter if it was the Pac 12 or Pac 16. I know it
hurts that the Big 12 denied you, then the Big East denied you, and then made it
seem better by saying you actually told them no. Only to try to go back and talk
to the Big 12 again, and they say no. They want Notre Dame. The no Sunday thing
is hurting the Y. While I am a member, the Sunday play might be the end of the Y
getting into a big conference. I really do hope they work something out. The
rivalry would be that much more intense if the Y was in the Big 12 and the UTES
in the PAc 12.
again at ydaddyI just think that if I go to the U hall of fame, or
any other, I won't see a trophy or a plaque for how many players got
drafted.Yes you will, The list would blow you away. BYU has had
many great NFL players and by you making statements like the ones you make about
Utah's Hall of Fame it just cheapens the accomplishments of BYU's
ellite NFL players. Have you ever heard of Larry Wilson, basically invented the
Safety Blitz-UTAH. Marv Fleming and his two Super Bowl rings with Green
Bay-UTAH. Alex Smith #1 draft pick first choice of the 49ers-Utah. Daddy if
you see our Hall of Fame you will see NFL Championship players, NBA Champions
and first round draft picks, World Series Rings, along with others who have
contributed to the community and don't forget about that Noble Peace Prize.
Don't cheapen your guys they were and are great players which I had the
privilage to see play. Again good luck McKay.
Y daddyYou just keep pumping your chest with that 25/26 ranking and
10 wins. And most of all that Idaho State Championship that you won. The two
schedules are not even close and while the Colorado loss hurt everyone that
wanted the Utes to go on, that Colorado team was still a PAC-12 team coming from
the BIG-12 something you just have no clue of comprehending. Beat that chest
all you want have another nice November and we will see you on the 22nd. Expect
to leave early again your team is not even close to being the calliber of the
team Utah is.And by the way, this article is about MJ#6, good luck
buddy, I as a Ute fan always enjoyed watching you play. Hope I see you once
again on TV.
Y Grad/Y Dad,The point of preparing players for the jump to the NFL
is so the whole team is stronger, faster, hungrier and leaner. All games are won
decisively, players play with greater poise and focus, and the quality of wins
increases dramatically. Following this approach would help the Y in better
recruiting, greater team cohesivness, and allow them to grow into a national
powerhouse in football that every team, in every conference respects. How is
beating the likes of Idaho State and San Jose State a positive? BYU wants to be
playing the big boys every week. Until the team develops into an NFL draft
powerhouse (think Alabama, Michigan, etc), their dreams of consistent national
media and football respect will only ever be a pipe dream with occasional
glimpses of greatness.
Everyone respects BYU.......America's team folks!
crowntown1So by your own "no sugar-coating it" rational:The only fact that matters is U couldn't even win a pathetically
weak PAC 12 South because U got beat down at home by one of the worst teams in
the country and Utah's supposedly "new rival". The
Buffs DOMINATED the Utes from the start, leading at halftime, 10-0, with a
254-39 total-yardage advantage and an 11 1/2-minute edge in time of possession.
Unfortunately for U, Utah's FG kicker, who only a few weeks earlier had
saved Utah's bacon in the snow at hapless WSU, failed miserably against
Colorado. For the 2nd time in Kyle's brief 7-year head coaching
career at Utah, K-Whit lost to a 10-loss team. That's as many losses to
10-loss teams as BYU has had IN THEIR ENTIRE HISTORY!After
BYU's early September meltdown, BYU finished the season 9-1, with a bowl
win over #35 Tulsa. After BYU's gift, Utah finished the season
6-4, with that ugly loss to #107 Colorado, and a near bowl loss to #56 Georgia
Tech.8th place - get used to it!
crowntown1@ Y DAD Y GRAD"You can point out every
meaningless fact ranking or stat from the last 20 years. But the only fact that

That's it! no sugar coating that . . no excuses you got beat and so Utah
fans can talk the talk."And I think that you just illustrated
that the only fact that matters to U is an admitedly impressive thumping of the
team U just can't get over.As for BYU, there were several
defining moments last season, or if you prefer, "facts that matter." By
and large, they point to a decent, not great season. Decent! Decent!! How
many schools can you think of that would think being ranked in the top 25 was
more than "decent."Apparently not U, though. The only fact
that matters is you beat the team you supposidly no longer care about. And I
think therein lies the difference - Utah had an otherwise pretty mediocre
season, but U are thrilled because of one triumph. BYU had an otherwise pretty
good season, but we are still irritated by one loss.
@crowntown1So that's the only stat that matters? So if BYU
wins this fall, you will concede that BYU is the superior program for the next

I wish he would have landed with my Jets! I would imagine the Jets'
interest in Jacobsen being that he has the look and potential to be the next
Wayne Chrebet, which is saying something.
Duckhunter your post about the number of Ute fans posting on BYU articles only
proves their point that they have "moved on" from BYU. BYU always has
been and always will be at the top of Ute fan's minds, no matter how they
try to spin it.
HCB63Just sayin', most alumni are more concerned with how the
TEAM did, not how many players go on to pro careers. The
over-weight linemen? Legitimate concern. Thumped by the U? Legitimate
concern. Winning seasons, another top 25 finish, bowl victory? Legitimate
accomishments. Despite our red brethren's laughable attempts to turn
everything upside down. I just think that if I go to the U hall of
fame, or any other, I won't see a trophy or a plaque for how many players
McKay can still live the dream. Undrafted free agents have had successful NFL
careers. Victor Cruz from the NY Giants comes to mind. He's listed as
6'0" 204. McKay's listed at 5'11' 190. The right team
at the right time? Who knows? It will be fun to follow McKay's progress
to see if he makes it.
sammygSpringville, UTPlease translate your post. Exactly what
is "Utah is behing you"?
When all is said and done---BYU is the "University of Utah", and the
star of the state.
Wow! Jacobsen had an entire nine TD catches and 1800 yards in all the seasons he
played for BYU. Gotta be proud of those subpar stats. Although those numbers
would be higher if Jacobsen didn't have a propensity for dropping passes
that are in his hands. There is a reason neither he, nor any other
BYU player has been drafted...again. Maybe the alumni will, after a few more
seasons, finally figure it out and put pressure on the AD to find a coach who
actually knows how to prep players for the jump to the NFL. Bronco ain't
the answer to that equation.
If McKay excels in the NFL, it will be yet another failure in developing players
at BYU. Also, I'll admit that I was surprised to see him even
get a contract as a free agent. While it might be a pipe dream, at least
he's able to live the dream for a few more months.
Good luck McKay! Utah is behing you...Just look at all these Ute
fans your story has attracted!
It's been almost two years since the Utes supposedly left the Cougars in
their dust with their PAC 12 invite, yet the same bunch of insecure,
BYU-obsessed kids from the hill continue to spam every BYU article.Gotta love the irony of a major conference bottom-dweller trying to prove that
they're better than an irrelevant, independent, "former" rival.hedgy:Top 15 FinishesBronco 3Kyle 1Top 25 FinsihesBronco 5Kyle 3Losses to 10+ Loss

Worf..........If BYU is so great how come they got destroyed by 44 points at
home by their instate rival? Oh, I forgot, it's always the refs fault.
Colorado game. Ouch good one.1984. Ouch! Good one.UNLV game years
ago. Ouch! Good one. Heisman. Ouch! Good one! Utah hoops. Wow good
comeback. These always sting soooooo bad every time we hear about them.
The simple truth is: All rational BYU fans would switch
places with Utah .
ydad,CougarsAnything > 0. Two years in a row!!LOL
BYU won't have anyone drafted in the NFL next year either........unless Van
Noy declares. He is the only NFL caliber player at BYU.
@toosmartforyou, BYU should start a new rivalry with Southern Utah U. Utah and
USU will be moving on to bigger and better things than BYU.......well, Utah
already has. And, we'll be looking forward to spanking lowly BYU again this
year......and ya know it will happen. Utah is absolutely LOADED this year and
for the foreseeable future. Just take a glance at our latest recruiting
class...... some serious looking athletes are at, or are headed to the mighty
U!By the way, I like a real school like Colorado being our rival
AGAIN. Their fans are great and nice people as well. Hopefully we'll will
beat them this year.
DuckhuntedWHYGRAD?/WHYDAD?,Sorry but the facts
don't support your opinion. In the last 5 years 14 Utes drafted by the NFL
4 Cougars. Don't you hate when facts ruin your post??High water
mark, 6 draftees, I believe. This year, 1. By definition, that is a
decline.6 > 1Next? That was too easy...
We have no idea how good Jacobson is. I guess we'll find out when he has a
decent QB throwing him the ball.

poor mans Welker.@ worf 6:03 p.m. May 1, 2012Isn't
Pride the universal sin?
@ FuddYeah, you're right----it's hard to have another 10
win season and be ranked in the top 25 once again, especially when it was
accomplished without being a member of a "BCS Conference."The only thing harder to watch than that must have been the game at Utah
against Colorado that cost the Utes the opportunity to appear in the Inagural
PAC 12 Championship game; you know, the game that was possible because the PAC
10 expanded asking Colorado first, then 5 BIG 12 Teams that told them what they
could do with their invitation, so out of desparation they invited Utah and
GREASED their way to the tournament game. All the lowly Utes had to do was
defeat Colorado (worst team in collegiate football) on their home field in SLC.
Wasn't it interesting that after a single year Doman stayed in place and
Chow left the supposed miracle program? My, why couldn't Kyle hang onto an
alumnus that drooled over coaching the Utes? Interesting...
Jacobson will be selling cotton candy at SF 49er games with Max Hall this fall.
Their buddy Alex Smith got Hall his job. Good luck McKay!

There are still very few comments on the bergstrom articles and almost none from

about the utah players that signed free agent contracts. Are you few
utah fans that actually doubt which fan base and which posters are the lowlifes

Let's say he's got descent speed not blazing speed but he's
5'10???? YOu know how many Wes Welker's there are? One! And Jacobsen
is no Welker.
MAFU_1976"I didn't realize there was a demand for slow white
receivers in the NFL. An arena league career is more likely."I
guess you haven't been paying attention. Believe it or not, Jacobsen is
FAST! But you are right that he is white, so one out of two ain't bad.
@Chris B,I know that saying ridiculous things to get a rise out of
BYU fans is kind of your thing (at least I hope it is, because if you really
believe some of the things you post, then that's just sad), but you really
ought to be careful about making comments that reflect poorly on your own team.
Calling Jacobson "unathletic" would mean that about 95% of your Utes are
also unathletic. For the record, I hope McKay makes it, but I
wouldn't put any money on it.

>Hedgy, but K-Whitt's draft numbers have dropped off drastically, so
obviously that means that he is in his declining years, right?" YgradI suppose you can say KWhitt's numbers dropped off from a NCAA
leading 6 draft picks as you can say bronkos numbers held steady at zero.
Wish the best for Jacobsen--he had some memorable catches for BYU, including the
game winner at Oklahoma.
@ toosmartforyou"How's the PAC 12 Championship Game? Did
you enjoy watching UCLA get creamned by Oregon? Get used to watching that game
from home".How's that November schedule going for you? Did
you enjoy watching WAC teams and having two November byes last season? Get used
to that cupcake November schedule because that is the best the cougs can do.
Hedgy, but K-Whitt's draft numbers have dropped off drastically, so
obviously that means that he is in his declining years, right?Seriously, as Ive gone back through last season, Jacobson had decent numbers
with Riley. Still wasn't the production we hoped for from before his
mission, but he actually made some big plays for BYU this last season. Just ask Utah State.
Mission was tough on Jacobsen. But, you never know when an athlete
will step up and do well.
Good for him. Hopefully he can stick. Too bad it wasn't with the Cowboys.
Way to go Mckay! Sorry to the rough end of your BYU Career. Good luck out in the
pros. Mckay Jacobsen is every bit as athletic as anyone on
Utah's squad by the way. He may not have been able to showcase his
play-making ability in the later part of his career but he's no less
athletic than any player the Utes have.
the NFL is drooling over undersized unathletic guys like Jacobsen(and all others
Go get 'em.
Too much said, hedge. How's the PAC 12 Championship Game? Did you enjoy
watching UCLA get creamned by Oregon? Get used to watching that game from
Bronco has not had a player drafted that he has recruited as the Head Coach at
