Of course you would have Flipp, er I mean Mitt.
Of course he would!
The Polls now tells him it would've been a good call.
And so was bombing Hiroshima.
Historical hnd sight is always 20/20, isn't it - Mitt?
The true character of a man is making the blind call right - BEFORE - public opinon.
It's so easy in hindsight for anybody to say they would have made the call to assassinate Bin Laden or at least authorize the go ahead to capture him. But from the public record, the probability of failure was quite high and it would have been a political, public relations nightmare for any President if the operation had failed. Whether or not Mitt Romney who seems to be very cautious in his deliberations and public image conscious would have actually approved the same decision as President Obama under the same circumstances is very questionable.
Oh yeah, just forget about the hundreds of billions (which we don't have) we spend on military and intelligence personnel and equipment. All this had nothing to do with it, and Obama had to go in there with his bare hands and do the job himself. What a national treasure and hero for all time! Of course NOBODY else would have made the call, because nobody is Obama but Obama. And once Osama was killed, the whole problem was solved, and we were able to just bring everybody home, right? Sure . . . we're just keeping them over there for training purposes. Of course Osama was the only person involved in terrorism, and now Obama has taken care of that.
Another day, another Mitt Flip!
In 2007, he was pretty straightforward saying he wouldn't send American's into Pakistan to take out Bin Laden. That if Pakistan wasn't going to bring him down, he wouldn't do it for them.
Reminds me of the way Rove attacked Kerry's military record, or at least his Super-Pac did. Romney can't even give the President credit for making a tough call that he himself was not prepared to make, or at least that's what Mitt said, but perhaps he misquoted himself.
It would be fascinating to really find out what the real Mitt Romney stands for, because it changes every couple of minutes. Or does not even Mitt know where Mitt stands anymore?
And here is what Mitt said that fully completes the story Obama is shopping:
"It’s wrong for a person running for president of the United States to get on TV and say we’re going to go into your country unilaterally. Of course America always maintains our option to do whatever we think is in the best interest of America. But we don’t go out and say “ladies and gentleman of Germany, if ever there was a problem in your country [and] we didn’t think you were doing the right thing, we reserve the right to come in and get them out”. We don’t say those things, we keep our options quiet."
And is hilarious for a past president that could have prevented 911 (yes you Bill Clinton) by killing bin Laden when he had the chance, to now claim Romney wouldn't have done it because he lacks that decisive capability.
This is nonsense. Any American would have called the hit on Osama bin Laden. To say that there are those among us that wouldn’t have done so underestimates the intelligence and heart of the average American.
Try the sentence again, without the even. And with the proper tone of respect. Because Carter did order a raid to rescue hostages, and it failed, and 5 airmen and 3 marines died. And Carter lost the next election and ransomed the hostages. So try it again, Governor Romney, with respect. "Jimmy Carter would have given the order."
Mitt once again tries to change and re-write history. Mitt once againa shows that truth and fact mean nothing to him, and that he will say whatever he thinks it will take to get himself elected regardless what he has said in the past. Mitt-flop (and I'm being charitable by characterizing this as a flip-flop) once again shows itself.
Why does ANYONE believe anything this guy says?
I keep saying this. Give both Romney and Obama an identical IQ, and high school standardized tests. As government employers we have the right to evaluate our candidates. Let's see school transcripts and other vital information instead of the constant rhetoric. Give us some information to work with.
