Get rid of the computers and simply take the four highest ranked teams in the AP and Coaches Polls combined. The voters in the polls already consider SOS, home, away, neutral, rivalries, injuries, margins of victory, weather, and all of the other factors that go into deciding the Top 25 every year.

The only needed tweak should be not having the first polls published until October. Let's see a few games played first before we start deciding who the true contenders and pretenders are.
