One has to agree that "Jesus the Anointed One" is a more accurate translation. Then one has to ask, "When was he anointed?" since that past-tense reference predates his birth. Christ worked better for Greeks because they knew it meant "Anointed One." For English speakers it makes more sense to use something that has an understandable meaning because most uninformed English speakers think Christ was his surname--totally off base.

Makes the LDS focus on bible scriptures describing events before the creation of the earth more understandable. The LDS revelations concerning pre-Earth events should at least be academically and theologically a subject of interest, even if others don't believe them.
