I was b&r in B.C. (hint: about 38-60 years ago) and attended the old Central Elementary School... where this beautiful new LDS Temple now stands. AMAZING!!
"Back in the old days", our neighborhood gang also used to go play football on the grass playground of the school. Hard to believe "The House of the Lord" now stands on our old playgrounds!
Confession: As kids, we even used to play some there on the Sabbath Day (gasp!!) I hope I'll be forgiven of that "desecration" sometime. ;^)
We cannot wait until the open house!
The building is beautiful and a great opportunity for members of the LDS faith, but the artists rendering in the accompanying photo is completely innacurate. The rendering is of the rear of the temple and appears to be at street level. Not the case. View from behind will see a cement wall. Not to mention the missing Sycamore trees in front.
