Mom and pop organic farmers just aren't going to be able to feed everyone who wants and can afford a high protein diet. Producers need every trick in the book. Especially because we all want quantity and we want it cheap.

In Taiwan it is quite easy to purchase tasty meat substitutes that taste close to the real thing They are made of soy and for the most part tast better than similar products here.

Soy substitutes are healthy and are more humane.
