Wasn't it Michelle Obama a while ago who said that for the first time in her life she was proud of the United States?
She and Ozzie might get together to compare notes.
The regimes Ozzie extols are regimes that would take his $10 million in a heart beat and leave him a rusty '57 Chevy in return. But it probably would make him happy after living in this repressionist country.
baddog. Any excuse to bring up Michelle Obama's minor misstatement huh? Just had to do it right? Maybe the devil made you do it.
why won't this comment section work? ugh
Anyway, Doug saying that Ozzie is almost exclusive in being the one who says dumb things is dumb itself. I highly doubt Ozzie "loves" Castro, I'm willing to bet it was a figure of speech. When you read what he said, most of us get what he was trying to say. I think Ozzie was saying that although many people hate Castro, Americans included, he has somehow managed to stay in power and that defies logic. When America really hates someone, we go get 'em and take care of business. I wouldn't have used the term "respect" as Ozzie did, but at the same time, you kind of think to yourself, wow, how is this guy still in power if everyone hates him so bad? Ozzie has the right to speak freely. He is now paying for doing just that because in our PC society, the ownership of the Marlins bowed down to pressure from the Cuban community. Just as we say maybe Ozzie needs to think first before speaking, maybe writers need to think first before writing, because I guarantee that Doug has said something he regrets from time to time, but no one writes about it.
