This is kind of a situation where you both win or lose whichever way it turns out.
Go for the picks, you are not going anywhere in the playoffs this year anyway! There should be at least 5 positions to fill next year and we are rebuilding, so continue the process. The future will be "BRIGHT"!
Play to win. The other way is not good for the psyche of an athlete, and as a fan, I don't like quitters. I just looked at the standings, and I think it's a good bet the Jazz will get the Golden State pick this year, anyway.
Jazz management can say and believe whatever they want. As for me, while I don't think the players will tank and throw the game, but I will not be dissappointed if they lose to Golden State. I would much, much rather have 2 lottery picks than be "rewarded" with zero draft picks and a first round rout by OKC. Look to the future, build now.

You didn't look very good. There is almost no chance at all that the Jazz get the Golden State pick...even if the Jazz were to lose to them tonight. There are several teams within a win of Golden State and Detroit has now tied them. If you look at the schedule for all of those teams you will see that GS has the fewest potential wins left on their schedule. Then consider that they are the only team of the bunch that knows they will lose their pick if they win. GS has had several games recently where they led late in the game and somehow managed to lose. It was a bit shocking that they beat Minn the other night...so, maybe there is still a chance but it is very, very, slim.
