Good heavens, Chris. A quick Trax ride (with trains every few minutes, no less) of three stations, there is a state-of-the art 12-plex movie theater as well as the Imax at the Clark Planetarium. The Broadway is less than a five-minute walk. I guess I don't see the point of whining about the dearth of movie theaters at City Creek when so many are so close.

Did you read the column? Maybe you should read it again. Chris explained that he understands the practical reasons for not having a theater at city creek. He also understood that there are plenty of movie theaters within walking distance of city creek, both independent and mainstream (like you stated in your comment). He just misses seeing a theater downtown, because there used to be theaters that he attended when he started as a movie critic. That's pretty much it.
