That was one of the more impressive zones I've ever seen BYU play. It was a PRESSURE zone, not just a contracted zone like you see so often.
Would love to see BYU employ that more the rest of the way. It was so active, Iona couldn't break it.
Funny thing is, so many BYU-fan posters on different sites were predicting BYU couldn't use a zone against a good outside shooting team like Iona.
Eat crow, guys!
Hope Coach Rose is as smart against Marquette. Wonder if they're trying to figure out ways to circumvent BYU's aggressive zone. At least, they've been given something to worry about.
The single biggest reason BYU won if that Carlino quit shooting. I'm glad someone finally got the message to him. Congratulations to BYU on an incredible win.
It was a terrific comeback and the Cougars should be commended. Like Hartsock says, itÂs over and time to get ready for a bigger challenge. The Iona game shows that BYU cannot run like other programs. I did not think Iona could keep up that pace and they did wear out. Carlino really needs to play more controlled ball and be more judicious with his shooting. He is not yet Jimmer. Otherwise, he will throw away BYUÂs chances. There are reasons he was benched in the Iona game. BYU needs to play a more of a controlled game or things will get away from them.
