Congratulations boys! What are the chances the DesNews will step up and honor Mr. Basketball, MVP's and All State recipients at a banquet and a Jazz game as they did for so many years? It was such a disappointment last year after so many of them had seen older siblings and older players honored in such a special way. I am pretty sure if the DesNews wanted to continue the tradition (and set themselves apart once again from the other paper) they could help sponsors to fund such an event if money was truly the issue. Don't get me wrong, DesNews does a great job with prep sports, but it was more than disappointing that they let that tradition fall.

Good list. Talon Shumway should be on the 1st team. Yes, he's that good.

Coaches missed the boat on this one! Brock Smith from Fremont a 5A ÂWork-HorseÂ. Look at this guyÂs numbers: 20 (19.77) points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He had some monster rebounding games and scored well against some talented teams. If a player is true first team material he should have the numbers to back it up. Potential has no place here or does how well your team finished. This is not to put anyone down, First Team All-State selections are the best of the best and Brock Smith should have been on the first team.

Is there a typo or am I missing something? Where is Jordan Loveridge?
