They can't fall asleep like they did twice against Gonzaga and twice against St. Mary and once against Loyolat Marymount. They will have to play sharp, control the ball and set up the big men. Knock off the silly fouls If they do this they win.

One and Done!

Should of held out for the NIT, cougs would have had a better shot at a coupe of wins.

Iona will go onto beat Marquette.

If BYU wins its because they will have had good officials.

If BYU loses its because they will have had bad officials.

Slow it down against Iona and pound it inside. Iona has no height, and Davies should have another 20 / 20 game.

Iona moves the ball around the perimeter which can cause problems for the Cougs. BYU towers ought to be able to control the boards, but the guards may try to match the points of Iona guards,and that may well be their un-doing. Coach Rose may find it too late to teach BYU guards discipline. Good luck. I hope they win.

I need some help. The article states that BYU has played in 26 NCAA tournaments. The article also states that BYU has a 14-29 record in those tournaments. How is it possible to have 29 losses in 26 one-and-done tournaments. Wouldn't it be just 26 losses?

A Utah connection...Tim Cluess, coach at Iona, played his HS basketball at St Agnes on Long Island, the school where Frank Layden of Jazz fame coached prior to his migration into college/pro basketball and eventually to Utah...

He played for his successor (Frank Morris) who was a legendary fast-break and pressure defense coach who was a predecessor of Paul Westhead's LMU teams...and Iona's style reflects this

another st agnes alum is Billy Donovan of Florida Gator fame...

Byu just needs to pound Hartsock and Davies down low all day. Iona will get tired and in foul trouble. They don't have the size to match up. Byu hopefully needs to slow them down and defend the perimeter perfectly because they definitely can score. If that happens they will win handily.

Oh Pawps, so ridiculous. Where are your Utes seeded again?

@Rod

The tournament hasn't always been a 1 loss and you are done format, in the past if you lost you would play 2nd or 3rd place games as well, so that is why you can get more losses than appearances.

Bring your A-game please, or we'll lose to a whole new set of Gaels. I'm glad the banged up players have been able to rest. We would all really love to have a shot at pulling off an upset Thursday, even if we don't often do it. Go Cougs!

What really is (Mr.) Obvious is that trolls can't accept BYU's success.

Should be an interesting game for fans of these schools. I give BYU the edge to be the team that gets beat by Marquette.
