Way to go Jeremy!
I hope to see more of this guy in the second half of the season.
Way to go Jeremy! I am really happy for the kid, he seems like a genuinely nice guy and I just wish more professional athletes were like him. Good Job!
Congratulations, Jeremy, on winning the Slam Dunk Contest! That 2nd dunk will go down as one of the best in all of the All-Star Dunk competitions.
His dunks were good! Overall though, this dunk contest was not good. I think he won because everything overall was not that impressive.
Classy move Jeremy!
Honoring what Karl Malone did for Utah and then going out and winning the competition.
Utah Jazz fans love you!
On the second try, Gordon Hayward, sitting on a chair with his back to the basket, tossed up two balls almost equidistant above his head and a soaring Jeremy Evans grabbed one, then the other and slammed one and then the other home. Awesome dunk. One of the most creative with special hand-eye coordination ever. Derrick Williams dunk with assist from teammate Rubio and Geroge's dunk over teammate Hibbert were also outstanding. Go Jeremy!
With just 29% of the vote, Evans proves he has not been able to excite the voting base. He's just not connecting with the voters. There are still 70% of voters who are looking for a better slam dunker, and it's clear the voters are not satisfied with the field of candidates. If one of the other three dropped out, that would represent a serious challenge to Evans and the question would be, who would pick up the anti-Evans vote? With 70% voting against Evans, who could convince the voters that he is the dunking alternative to Jeremy Evans?
If only this dunking contest could be dragged out for a couple of years, with the help of highly intelligent sports pundits we may be able to solve this dilemma.
Well done Evans - glad to have you in a Jazz uniform.
Yay, Jeremy! I hope this means that we will be seeing more of you during the games. Including Gordon in your second dunk and honoring Karl Malone in your third showed so much class and character. Count me on the list of your big fans!
Go Jazzboys in the second half!! (Pleeeeeze make your free throws!)
DSB, that was good.
Jeremy is an extreme high riser. Glad to see him come away with the prize.
To bad Corbin has decided to start another veteran on the downhill side of his career rather than going with the youth, we'll probably see even less of Evans and the rest of the young guys in the 2nd half of the season.
Good job Jeremy!!!!!!!
His slogan now should be LET JEREMY PLAY.
Who cares if he got "only" 29%.
Considering how the NBA has become a popularity contest for big market players, and considering his minutes, that is an accomplishment.
Only in Utah do talented youth sit while washed up veterans lay eggs night in and night out.
Great show to both Jeremy and Gordon. I enjoy watching them play.
YAWNNNNNN!!!!! A pro-basketball player slam dunking a ball or even 2 is about as impressive as any person taking a breath. What a bore!
@Bob A. Bohey
Can you dunk two balls in one hoop while having the concentration to catch them? just saying
they done make dunk contests like they used to. Dunk contest of the late 80's and early 90's were some of the best ever. Now it's all about how big of a production someone puts together. Outstanding athletes no doubt, but the dunk has lost some luster for me.
