I was at the game and this is my observation as a retired HS boys and girls
coach. To me the bingham coach just doesn't have confidence in his players to be
able to just play the game and use their talents. It was evident as he got on
his players for every little on the sideline. The weber coach looked like he had
all the confidence in the world in his players to be able to play the game.
Bingham coaching staff should let their players use their talents and play the
game instead of what it looked like they were scared to do anything outside of
the play called and there was no improvision if the play didn't work. they stuck
with the play and just turned the ball over. If the ball was supposed to go
inside they would throw it inside no matter if the center was being double or
triple teamed. Wont win that way. Let the players play the game and have
confidence that your coaching will help the girls in how the react on the court,
instead of just being robots out there cause they are scared to do anything.
InsideView - I am with you on that. What a class act the Weber High coach is.
Coach Rasmussen did what he does when things are going his way - ducked out the
back door. I think I saw a few reporters waiting to speak with him but... That
spoke volumes.Great game played by Weber. On the other hand - my
Lady Hawks just simply ran out of gas.
This was a great game and it is refreshing to read comments from the Weber Coach
in the article. Most articles in regards to Bingham Girls basketball are
dominated with comments from Coach Rasmussen. He is a great coach, however.
