First they tell us it will never happen. Now that it's happening they laugh because it's a one and done. What next? There will never be a way to please them.

This is a nice game for BYU to schedule and will likely get very big TV coverage. Will see if it is 1 and done or a longer term deal before commenting.
To @jakra-rus - Really? You put up a post insulting a PAC 12 schedule when BYU played NMSt, Idaho, Idaho State and a bunch of other cupcakes this year. Guess you forgot that the Y is also playing WSU in the future and also forgot about what the end of the season holds for the next few years.
I applaud BYU for scheduling ND, Ga Tech and some other strong names. After reading posts like those from jakra, I like the Nebraska game even more - it will be great to watch another team in red beat the Cougs that year.

CFTx says "Give it one more year, when our agreement with the WAC ends, and you will see a big improvement in November schedule."

Curious what teams you have in mind when you say "big improvement" over the WAC slate. Many of the big conferences are going to 9 conference game schedules, leaving little room for non-conference scheduling -- certainly not in November. The SEC is the only big conference I've seen schedule non-conference in November, and even then the SEC is not looking to schedule someone as good as BYU (see? a compliment). They look for a barely-division 1 school to use as a virtual bye week on their brutal November schedules.

As usual, another BYU schedule announcement, followed by another avalanche of jealous rants from our little brothers on the hill. When has a big name Big Ten team EVER visited RES - Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan State, Iowa, Illinois or Nebraska?

"And where is my beloved BYU?"

Your beloved BYU? Get real!

Since when does a BYU-hating, Utah troll consider BYU "beloved"?

Playing teams like Nebraska in storied Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska is what college football is all about. Only fans of a johnny-come-lately program with no history couldn't appreciate the experience.

What do you expect? They're Utah trolls. There is no pleasing them because they're insanely jealous of everything BYU does.

The kids on the hill see their program falling farther and farther behind BYU and it's killing them. If they really considered BYU irrelevant, they wouldn't have to spend their every waking breath trying to convince themselves.

Go Cougars! This is a great announcement. I've been to a game in Lincoln before and it is a crazy fun place. Good job Holmoe!

Thank you jealous ute fans. I know this game is eating you up. I noticed utah isn't on the schedule for 2015. Hmmm Nebraska can make room but the utes can't. It's easy to see who is running scared.

Utah would never take a one and none from a school like Nebraska. They aren't even in the PAC 12.

Utah just beat the living daylights out of BYU 54-10 on national TV last fall. Utah has taken control of the rivalry by winning 7 of the last 10 games over the last 10 years. Utah will put BYU in it's place as little brother this fall for the final game, and will send the cougies home with their tail between their legs. Utah owns BYU 55-34-4 (Not even close!). Plus, Utah (1850) has been around longer than BYU (1875).

The sooner we drop our little brothers off our schedule the sooner we'll have Big Ten teams to play.

Go Utes! and Go Pac-12!

"Utah just beat the living daylights out of BYU..."

Yet, BYU finished in the Top 25, while Utah didn't receive a single vote.

One game does not a season make.

U should have saved a little something for your "new rival", instead of spending the entire season reminiscing about a gift win against an irrelevant, independent.

Considering what sport you are talking about I would consider all BIG10 schools to be big names. Starting with the new football agreement BIG10 teams will be visiting RES on a regular basis.

Open mouth, insert foot.

You called that right "irrelevant independent"

Hang in there Band of Lil Brothers!

Cant wait for another curb stomping in September!

You are obviously mistaken. BYU is looking for any experience it can get. Has to work harder just to schedule teams. Its no guarantee an agreements can be changed. And just what is going to happen if Nebraska decides to pull the plug? You got it, Fill the slot with a WAC team.

Go WAC legacy building Cougs!

Elmer Fudd, that was hilarious!

Fudd 4 President!

Lets pat lil brother on the head, give them their milk and graham crackers and send them to independence land, where the Fairy God Mother will sprinkle fairy dust all over their weak sauce schedule. So that they can end up with Romper room wins and butterfly dreams of another lame top 25! YES! Now thats Football!
all 54 team members and 10 coaches!

Oh yes, so this will get posted; Great article

"First they tell us it will never happen."

Nobody was saying the cougars could schedule one-off games vs. national powerhouses. Utah St. has been doing it for years. In fact, not too long ago, Coastal Carolina played at Penn State. What we're saying will never happen is the cougars won't get invited to a major conference. You're mid-majors forever.

Oh, and we're also saying that your November schedules will be perennially WAC-ish, and your Home schedules will never measure up to your big brother's up on the Hill.

Johnny-come-lately? All because you've got a date at Memorial Stadium? Guess where the Utes played on Sept. 5, 1992? Or Sept. 16, 1989? Or Sept. 13, 1980? Or Sept. 21, 1968? No, we didn't win any of those games, and yes, they were all one-offs. In fact, we didn't have a single winning season in any of those years. Nebraska knew what they were doing. They scheduled their preseason vs. a weak WAC team, and got their win. And now here we are, having come full circle with the Huskers back to scheduling another weak WAC team in September.

Betcha Nebraska visits RES before they visit LES.

Who am I sir?

@DuckHunter
"Well it sounds like you'll maybe get to sit in res for a bunch of ute losses." You are absolutely right! Maybe I will get to sit in RES for a bunch of Ute losses; However, the past season only enhanced my joy as a fan. There is no question I would rather see hopefully a competitive game against legenary competition than to take pride in a one-sided victory over a completely mis-matched opponent.

@InSstiches

This is spooky. Are you stalking me? How did you know my age? I'm sorry if I tried to turn the conversation to my team. However the article only mentioned Nebraska scheduling the Y. It failed to mention the same announcement also identified Flordia Atlantic, Souther Alabama, and Idaho State were scheduled to play Nebraska. Now that's fast company.

Wow...of the 40 (now 41) posts here on a BYU article, about a BYU football game, where a team has scheduled to play BYU in 2015, 15 of them were from "Ute" fans.

That's 38%.

That's obsession. That's also really sad, yet humorous at the same time.

I thought Utah was supposed to have left BYU in the dust now that U're in the PAC 12. With the 'big boys'. And a new rival in Colorado. At least, that's what Ute fans were telling us all summer.

Oh the hypocrisy from the hill! U got invited to the 'big boys' table and got stuck in the high chair, lost to your 'new' rival to end your chance at a conference title, and find yourselves where U've been all this time...

Yipping at the heels of your big brother :)

Keep those comments (and the validation) coming, Ute fans!

Go Cougars!
