Why are they being allowed to start introducing a new species that could potentially be a threat to our ecosystem in Utah? We have seen the many hazards of test plants grown and brought to Utah and we the taxpayers are the one footing the bill to eradicate these hazards. Science or not, its not worth the risk to this state and this country. All we need is some irresponsible student or educator to steal some seeds then spread them out.

I don't think the Universities should be allowed to experiment on these kinds of unknown dangers in a very strained ecosystem like the desert. They have no idea how dangerous this is and it's why California has laws preventing anyone from bringing in any plants or plant life in their state. Maybe its time for Utah to implement a similar law to preserve and protect farmers and food growers from these hazards.
