So, they are upset that China has forced abortion but it doesn't bother them at all to have forced pregnancy?

Slavery is slavery no matter what direction the force is applied from.

"When Obama rescinded the ban, Planned Parenthood responded to ABC News, saying âthe Global Gag Rule was a threat to the health of millions of women. ... It's been a long eight years, and we have a lot more work to do to roll back President Bush's awful legacy on women's health."

And what about the health of the unborn baby?

Planet earth has seven billion people on it. We need to keep a lid on the population. Why would we want to disable organizations that help with the problem? If some diety wants to step up and deal with the problem, fine with me. I don't see that happening, so we have to go with our own ways.

get rid of both of them.

communists and socialist believe in population control. With freedom comes responsibility on ones actions. Take personal responsibility!

Oops, another gaff for Romney.
Guess he was too busy and kind of sad last week? Mitt missed an important message last week.

People always criticize Mitt because he has no (detectable) core values. My question is .. is this necessarily a bad thing? If you believe in true democracy perhaps not. Having a president such as Mitt who rules by having his finger in the wind may be the closest thing short of actual democracy, ... to actual democracy.

The post I had get punted from this forum was apt. The point was and is that, instead of trying to dictate with whom and why anyone is allowed to have sex, we would be better served if politicians dealt with some of the real, pressing issues everyone is facing.

Definitely - DEFUND Planned Parenthood. Let the Democratic Party pay for it if they want it. While you're at it defund La Raza, ACORN, (no matter how they name it, or call it)and the dept. of education, and energy depts.

Its bizarre that we: borrow money from China, pay it back (with interest)then turn around and pay for their "population control" out of our own pockets.
Tell china to use the interest we paid them to pay for those expenses!

Pure campaign rhetoric. It would be nice if he does these things but givern his track record, it won't happen.

I worked at the UN for 2 1/2 years. There is not a more anti-US, anti-family, anti-religion, anti-Israel organization in the world. Our money is being wasted there, except for some limited humanitarian efforts, which would be better served by having the US deal directly in those situations rather than going through the UN. Perhaps that would dissipate some of the anti-US feelings.

Romney's message changes depending on his audience.
This was a conservative convention, but what will he say in front of moderates?
That is a central problem in his campaign. In Ohio he has recently spurned the conservatives.

Kalindra-- There is only one way to end up with a 'forced pregnancy'--and that is from rape.

And you will find Mitt Romney supports abortions in the case of rape.

@Mayfair
"And you will find Mitt Romney supports abortions in the case of rape. "

No he doesn't. Okay let me clarify... he's taken both sides of the issue since he told Huckabee that he supported the personhood amendment Mississippi was considering and that personhood amendment makes no exceptions for rape.

I believe his message is both one of moral and fiscal conservatism. He is going to be cutting all sorts of programs in an effort to keep us from turning into Greece and other European nations up to our eyeballs in debt. He already said he was cutting funding for PBS and that big bird can have commercials.

I'm fine with that. I have to balance my budget, why shouldn't the government?

I am against federally funded abortions except in extreme circumstances (rape, etc). But how can any sane person really beleive that China relies on the UN for support for their one child program. Cutting funding to the UN prgram will make zero difference in what China does, or doesn't do.

Meanwhile, after taking a pseudo stand like this, I am sure all the happy little conservatives will stand there and support China's status as a most favored nation status. Our foriegn policy is so messed uup, viewing Cuba as a bigger threat to our safety and growth, than China and the middle east. This is just one more proof point that his is all about having talking points in speaches rather than doing things that actual contribute to change. You want to change China's behaviour, don't buy from them any more. This UN policy speach is grand standing at best, and is just one more reason I question Romney as a serious candidate.

He says what is poplular, not what will make a difference.

Oh for a real candidate of conviction, honesty, and charector.... please.... anyone....

Another reason I hope Romney becomes our new President -- his courage to stand up for and express his beliefs, despite the possibility of them not being popular. True Obama declares his dictatorship policies, and stands by them, but at the expense of unborn children, taxpayer money, and our freedoms.

To Pete 1215, "some deity" lets us mortals make our choices because He has granted us our agency, that we either benefit from or suffer from. He allowed our country to elect Obama as our President, and now we are reaping (possibly, weeping) from that choice.

If we want God to continue to bless America, we need to be more obedient to His laws.
