I didn't know the grewsome details of what Archuleta did until I just now as I read this article. I read earlier today that his family thinks it is unfair that his accomplice is not going to be executed but he is.

Unfair? Unfair to who? It is unfair to the victim that both aren't being executed and too society too. It is not unfair to Archuleta, he richly deserves this ececution.

I might say it is also unfair to Archuleta's family what HE is putting them through.

I know this is on the other side of it, but where is the line between rehabilitation and vengeance?

Is it vengeance to send a man to prison for band fraud or giving a speeder a traffic ticket? The law establishes specific penalties for various crimes and decent society doesn't view a punishment as "vengeance". It is a consequence.

Some crimes, like the one Josh Powell committed for example, put the offender beyond the limits and bounds of rehabilitation.

This isn't about either. It's about "restitution."
