John Wesley urged Christians to read from Genesis and the Gospels every day. The practice inspired generations of emotionally strong and spiritually fulfilled people. Perhaps as importantly, it also confirmed readers in their mastery of the English language. As the world has grown in its knowledge of God and His creation, Satan has grown in his knowledge of how to lead us astray. The most powerful weapon he has yet developed is ignorance owing to an inability to communicate.
