This is a great article because it is so helpful to consumers. I caught myself laughing to myself as I read some of the businesses for whom the Better Business Bureau received the most complaints , simply because they were not a surprise. I appreciate the information.
Great article, very enlightening. I appreciate the information plan to
use the BBB more.
Not so fast people, the BBB is not what this article makes it out to be.
Complaints are down because people are more educated and know its a waste of time to complain to the BBB because they have no policing powers and are biased to preserve their funding, business that are good and bad. The BBB is not a consumer organization, they are a business organization helping business overcome disgruntled customers. The BBB is a title of no value to consumers.
And a second reason complaints are down is so many businesses are out of business and no longer members of the BBB.
If people want to complain about how business is operating and customer treatment it is better to file with the State Consumer Protection Department who are independent and non biased criminal investigations team for scams and fraudulent business operations.
