Placing cell phone restrictions on teenage drivers is age discrimination. Restrict EVERYONE. I count at least 20 cars a day on my commute where the driver is on the phone.

"Placing cell phone restrictions on teenage drivers is age discrimination"

You must be 19 to use tobacco products in Utah and you can't drink alcoholic beverages here until you are 21. Yes it is age discrimination and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. You certainly don't want a 12-year old child getting a driver's license.

Likewise teenage drivers are less skilled and easily distracted. Personally I don't think anybody, including the police, should be using a cell phone while drive. It impairs their driving.

Bill to restrict teen cell phone use by teen drivers passes Senate

===============

I thought this was ALREADY a law, for EVERYONE.
Welcome to Utah - I guess someone forgot to set his calendar back 20 years!

Hurry up and pass a law requiring this "distracted Driving Law" for everyone!

Good Grief.
And you worry about 3.2% beer....
...and I don't even drink!

I agree with Delta "Age is NOT a factor, I have to watch out for ancient folks who seem unaware that others are using the roads, and are using a cell phone to receive instructions on where they are going at the same time.

Alcohol and smoking laws are morality based along with rated R movies, not safety based.
