Those poor red chairs!
Who's going to pay tonights HC light bill with all those empty seats???...at least there won't be a rebroadcast to live through.
Official attendance:
8,404
Actual attendence:
less than 5,000, unless you're counting the fans disguised as empty red chairs
there were plenty of those all the way down to the first row
There were some bad calls in this game, but I wouldn't want to blame the loss on the refs. Blaming the refs is an overused excuse by those trash throwing fans down south.
Thursday was a close game because Oregon took Utah for granted. Oregon State didn't mess around. They played like the better team that they are.
Recent fascination with empty chairs is interesting. Must be a flash-troll thing. If the Cougars can't fill up their own arena on a "good" year, why would you expect high attendance for the Utes during a rebuilding year?
What an embarrassment and nightmare for Utah!
Sooner Ute:
It's actually the Huntsman Center that's fascinated with red chairs. I almost fell out of my chair laughing at your "If the Cougars can't fill up their own arena on a "good" year, why would you expect high attendance for the Utes during a rebuilding year?" comment. This has been going on for awhile now_just how many rebuilding years are U going to have?
Rebuilding Year...??? Really??? How long is a Ute rebuilding year??? They've been close to having the lights at the HC turned off for several years now. May as well put the HC in mothballs and lease the YMCA gymnasium...until an actual rebuilding year actually happens.
If only we could transfer our free throw percentage from the last two games back to the Stanford and UW games. I really think this game rivals Cal, Colorado and USC as our worst performance this year. Oregon State has no half-court offense. They look like the world's most organized pickup team, all they run is trap D and transition O.
Good defensive effort from the Utes. But sloppy passing, Chris Hines's worst shooting performance and some very perplexing calls from the officiating crew=hard game to watch.
Sooner-
Is deflecting the conversation to trash talk BYU the only thing you can do?
Re: Truth Machine
Ha! Now it's "chair" smack. Remember, an attendance of 5,000 is still twice what you folks play for in the HS gyms in the WCC.
Fact: any Utah fan knew that this year was a write-off. However, and remember this- we will improve greatly over the next several years; we're in the PAC-12, life is good and the future's bright.
On the other hand, Jimmer's long gone ; you're in the WCC; and that's as good as it's ever going to get. Except maybe by continuing to show no class by throwing trash onto the court.
ImaCaMan
Fact: Utah has been "rebuilding" since sweaterman left
Fact: Utha is 100-112(47%) overall, 46-61(43%) in conference, since 2005-06, with FIVE losing seasons and only one NCAA tournament game, a humiliating loss
Fact: Life hasn't changed a bit for your basketball program since joining the PAC 12, in fact, you're doing much worse in an even weaker conference than the MWC
Fact: BYU is averaging 17,000+ fans per home WCC game
Fact: EVERY BYU game is nationally televised either on ESPN or BYUtv in HD
Fact: Utah's program is a train wreck - hardly anybody cares enough to even show up to watch games at the HC, and none of the local television stations will even televise Utah's games
Fact: Only delusional Utah fans believe that being in a particular conference is the end-all-be-all of program success; there's NOTHING BYU can't accomplish just as easily from the WCC as Utah can from the PAC 12

Top 3 WCC > Top PAC 12
unfortunately for U
the dregs of the WCC > the dregs of the PAC 12
#265 Santa Clara (winless in the WCC) > #300 Utah (2-9 in PAC 12)
Keep trying to convince yourself that meeting expectations of being awful somehow makes being one of the worst teams in the country more palatable.
RE: ImaCaMan
I assume you are talking about football with your PAC12 comments and your rip on the WCC. Three teams from the WCC are higher RPI than ANY team in the PAC12. In fact the WCC is ranked #8 as a conference RPI. The PAC12 is 11.
