Johan Santana pitched the first no-hitter in New York Mets' history, helped by an umpire's missed call and an outstanding catch in left field in an 8-0 victory over St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night.
National Volleyball Tournament
Warren Van Schalkwyk is part of the Utah Valley 40s men's volleyball team competing for a title in the USA Volleyball National Championships held this weekend at the Salt Palace. The team defeated another Utah team in its first game Friday, Sweet Yams, 25-19, 25-22, to earn a bye for the first round of the double elimination bracket that will determine the over-40 champion.
Celtics beat Heat
Kevin Garnett had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Rajon Rondo scored 21 points with 10 assists to lead the Boston Celtics to a 101-91 victory over the Heat in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on Friday night, cutting Miami's lead in the series to 2-1.

Another ugly home loss for the Utes -- 22 turnovers, many of them unforced. With Colorado, California, and Stanford left, a losing record at home is now all but guaranteed, 5-7 at home, if you don't count the loss to Adams State. At Arizona State on Feb 9th may be Utah's last chance for a win this season.
Mercifully, it'll all be over in a month and we can turn our attention to spring football.
