Good for them. these are all consenting adults no abuse going on, we don't prosecute people cohabitating, having affairs etc. the law should leave the Browns alone. it was wrong for the government to make plural marriage illegal it should have been okay as part of the 1st amendment back when the LDS Church practiced it, just because people don't agree with anothers religion doesn't mean they should force them to give it up and make it illegal, as long as no one is getting hurt or abused they should be free to exercise their religion.
This seems to me to be a cut-and-dried religious liberty case. The Browns should not be harassed by law enforcement for disobeying a law that many think is unconstitutional in light of recent court cases.
I don't feel one bit sorry for the Browns. They deliberately went into this TV show in order to use it as a device to take on the state on the issue of polygamy. Their attitude was "bring it on." If their children are suffering, they have no one to blame but themselves. This was a deliberate act. When you do wrong, there are consequences.
Cats so is that the attitude we should have given other fighting for civil rights? many could could say " I don't feel sorry for Kings, Parks families. They deliberately went to the streets in order to use it as a device to take on the state on the issue of segregation. Their attitude was " bring it on" If their children are suffering, they have no one to blame but themselves. This was a deliberate act. When you do wrong, there are consequences" this would have been the attitude of some people back in that era. know that it was in the past we can look at history and see it was a mistake for discrimination. I hope the Browns can practice and live their religion and beliefs with out discrimination. hopefully future generations will look at this and say it was wrong for the government to make plural marriage illegal. look what happened as a result people live in secret and some groups like Warren Jeffs have abused children and wives. the Lds Church would never had let that happen.
