Nice little not-so-subtle hint that the legislature supports Liljenquist over Hatch.

I'm not sure why I can "like" some posts and not others. Anyone have the answer.

Good Heavens!

What next?

Is this the Utah Capitol? Or is it the state hospital?

Perhaps instead of just railing against the 17th Amendment, some research should be done into why that change was sought and made.

The 17th Amendment was passed to end special interest influence on Senators, to reduce the amount of money spent on campaigning, and to end the "state machine" that was not responsive to the will of the people.

(It is interesting that those who are pushing hardest for the repeal of the 17th Amendment are those who listen least to the will of their constituents.)

When the 17th Amendment was passed, the attitude was that if state Legislators were not going to listen to the people and pass the laws they wanted, the people would bypass them, directly elect Senators, and have the Federal Government do the things the state was refusing to do.

The Government is supposed to be by the people, of the people, and for the people - the 17th Amendment was supposed to help with this.
