@MapleDon... This is utah, nothing happens here. When it does and something like
this.. The media will hold onto it forever.
First, let me acknowledge that this going to sound extreme and like I am a drug
dealing hooker or left-wing fanatic BUT that could NOT be farther from the
truth. I am a white, 40 yr old female conservative and daughter of 2 police
officers! BUT Utah policing is heavy handed and ridiculous! Of course 6 officers
responded because they have nothing else to do apparently. This is why we have
good people being harrassed by badge heavy cops on a regular basis. Things that
would be a warning in any other free state are prosecuted in this state! I have
seen it way too many times. 4 officers responding to a $25 shoplifting call, 3
officers (out of 3 on duty) responding to some teenagers arguing in a park in
Alpine. 4 cars for a suspended license ticket on the side of the road, 4
officers for taking MountainDew from a fountain instead of water! I am not
making this up! I have either seen it with my own eyes or it has happened to
friends of mine. Also, I find it funny that NO ONE is reporting that the officer
that was killed was NOT wearing his required PPE for this kind of procedure ie
NO BULLET PROOF VEST! I have to say that if someone kicked in my door I would
fire first and ask questions later. Police need to be professionals NOT cowboys!
This isnt the wild west! BUT you'd never know it if you dealt with a cop in UT!
TRAIN THEM! Every single action does NOT need to be issued a citation! They work
for US! They need to remember this. UGH! Told you it was extreme but
Am I the only person in Utah, who thinks that maybe the police were at some
fault for this incident? Why did they go in, with guns drawn on a marijauna
grower? I am not for druggies, but it seems there are a lot worse problems in
Ogden than someone growing pot...And six men were needed to make this call? In
today's world, I would think that common sense should have some place. You do
NOT go in with guns blazing on someone who did tours in Iraq or
Afghanistan...Because in most cases, yes they are going to react. And not in a
I don't think I would call it chaotic, more like very intense.
What's disturbing is the media's desire to play out this story as long as
possible. Move on.
