Give me a break, if the dog was gonna hurt you it would go straight for you, not circle you and "bump" you. Something tells me this is an overreaction to a specific breed again and that if it had been a boxer, or a golden retriever the dog would have been fine.

"if the dog was gonna hurt you it would go straight for you"
Pit bulls have a reputation that they've worked very hard to obtain. An officer isn't required to wait until he is injured by an aggressive dog before taking the appropriate action.
In Concord, California Steven Hayashi will arrested and charged with the death of his grandson after his three pit bulls mauled the little 2-year-old to death. Mr. Hayashi said: "I thought pit bulls had a bad rap. I'm one of those animal lovers who thinks dogs are dogs. Now I mistrust all dogs."
If you own pit bulls you are expected to keep control of them. If you don't the police will.
