A) St. Mary's is a really good team. They are clearly the better squad. BYU just can't match up.
B) Despite BYU not being in St. Mary's league, it would be nice if they could still play with the same rule book. It's is infuriating how Davies can get called for an offensive foul when he doesn't lower his shoulder and the guy throws himself to the floor; but Rob Jones just threw his shoulder into a BYU player twice on the same offensive possession without a call.
A couple of self-evident truths from this game:
1-St. Mary's is the best team in the WCC and possibly even better than UNLV for best team in the west;
2-BYU's student section is loud and can change games, but the students who were throwing crap disgrace the university and should be kicked out of future games;
3-Carlino should forget about his 3-point game for a while and just drive to the hoop---he was great in the second half;
4-BYU's only shot at the NCAA tournament is if it wins the WCC tournament---very possible with a #2 or #3 seed and having the games in Orleans Arena in Las Vegas; and
5-Nick Emery and Tyler Haws---we need you now!
