What about Brigham Young's grandson, William Hooper Young? He was quite a famous Mormon in his day, and deservedly so.

Google him because the Des News won't write an article about him.

Red Corvette:

The purpose of the USA Today feature was to highlight a small sample of current American Mormons who are well known (seemingly for good things after looking at the list - nice mixture). While William Hooper Young may be an interesting footnote in history (perhaps to those who buy the National Enquirer), profiling someone who had fallen away from the Church, become addicted to morphine and then later murdered a married prostitute, is hardly worth a DN article, even if his father was an apostle. Just another tragic story like millions of others in history.

Orrin Porter Rockwell would be another good choice to feature as a famous Mormon, along with the "Danites" (which of course the church denied ever existed despite being well-documented by serious historians such as D. Michael Qunn).

Frank J. Cannon was another famous Mormon. I find it fascinating how many of these "Mormon royalty" saw through it all.
